This is a must buy for me. Seldom do we come across a game with such detailed sharp graphics. The lighting and depths of the scenes is almost 3D, just beautiful. Just look at the flytrap or the HOG next to the Alligator, you can almost see your own shadow in the water. I'm impressed!!! Story is nothing new, but keeps you wanting to find out more. Are these new devs? Well keep it up, absolutely a wonderful job. Don't need hints really, it is pretty smooth flowing and you usually know, what to do next. You get to mix potions again that you need to use on different objects to move on. It has a notebook that keeps track. Sound effects match perfectly. It had me sweating at the beginning, needed to get out of the box quickly. I hate to be in a box, but I made it :) I recommend strongly
Very interesting game with many different things to do, I really had a good time! The good: Story is great, interesting, you are on a mission to stop evil and mad wizard Graphics are amazing, beautifully designed locations Music is really good, it really made the atmosphere Puzzles are quite good, not so challenging but entertaining You have a notebook, some sort of book of potions ( with recipes ) that you make along the way, I found that very entertaining Hint system is helpful The bad: No map, you are constantly going back and forth HOS- a bit boring, no interaction, some scenes are dark and blurry
I absolutely loved this game! I didn't find anything about it that I didn't like. The graphics were very well done, as was the music. I really liked the main guy's voice & it sounded familiar. The hint button told where to go next & you didn't get in trouble for clicking on things. Some of the HO's were a little difficult to find, but all in all, a GREAT HO game! I will definitely buy it!
The graphics are pretty and the puzzle objectives are easy to understand with logical solutions. I prefer games that make sense to figure out and do not require frequent trips the the forums for solutions to puzzles. Hidden objects are not impossible to see allowing infrequent use of the hint button but are hidden enough that one must look for them. I am not particularly concerned with the storyline which is easy to skip. It would be nice if a click not on the skip would jump forward to the next line of text but one must either listen to the whole thing or skip. I enjoyed mixing potions and solving other puzzles of this nature in addition to the normal hidden object and one object used on others. I also enjoyed the fact that some items stay in the inventory for multiple uses. Overall quite enjoyable if you want a casual challenge, easy interface and game ply, along with pretty graphics.
Get your eyes ready for a workout as there is a ton of stuff to do in this game. You are making potions and finding things in a jumble of stuff. Really fun but difficult in some of the Hidden object areas. Very sharply drawn and great to look at and listen to. Good hint button if you need it. This is a game that makes you think and be on the move. You have a potion book to work from and you will be making a lot of them. It is fun because it is slightly different from the normal games we play. It has an added twist. I will certainly buy this game and hope you will too. Enjoy!!
This game starts out with heart pumping action as you must free yourself from a coffin in the dark! The graphics are well done, they are as clear as a movie you would watch on tv, even in the HOS you could make out every detail of an arrow in a tree all the way down to the knotch on the end! The mini games were twists on the usual puzzles such as the door latch is a move the blocks game but you have to move the blocks to allow the door latch, which is also a block, to open. There really aren't a lot of mini games and they can't be skipped in hard mode, but if you click the hint button it will tell you the instructions for the mini game. The hint system only shows you what direction to go. Before I read the other reviews, I would have thouhgt that this game was one to purchase but if there isn't much else to play then maybe not, but I do recommend you play the demo because it is a well done and fun to play game.
A Wizard's Curse was so beautifully designed. The graphics were superb, voiceover excellent. I thought it was so original to have the alchemist silhouetted and in a white fog. Different, I like that. Hidden object scenes were beautifully arranged. Although some of the objects were almost impossible to find. I thought the game play was great despite other comments. The opening scene was fantastic. I did not have any trouble with the puzzles. They were pretty straightforward. The hint system gives instructions on what to do. I have seen this used in other games. I didn't mind that the hidden object scenes were used more than once or that we had to retrace our steps backwards. This is the first time I have played a game by this developer and I hope to see more from them. Look forward to a sequel. Hope it is soon.
Fantastic adventure-heavy game with absolutely gorgeous graphics... I was shocked and disappointed at the low overall review rating in the 'official' reviews; hoping that will not influence the potential to great to see this developer's creations again on BFG! Voice acting was top notch also.... a definite buy for me [surprised I missed it when it was first released].
At last, something to write home about. I absolutely love this game. Hardcore players will have a blast with this. I chose the more difficult level to play and Lo and Behold, I had a devil of a time trying to figure out my way out of the coffin. Took me a while to figure it out but the game had me at Hello! Great graphics, good music and voice overs. Dont let the simplicity of the game fool you, while there is no map, no extra features, merely a journal and a hint button, the game offers challenging adventure gameplay along with HO scenes that are not interactive. Puzzles are on the challenging side and all in all, a game where a little more brain power is required. Although the black bar tips do help out, there is a fun aspect to figuring out what to do. As for the storyline, taking on the role of an alchemist, we must battle wits with a rogue wizard who is cursing everything that comes his way. I am keeping this short a simple, a definite buy for me and KUDOS to the developers for this simple but very entertaining game.
Its a very nice story and fun game :)
