Great old school RPG- storyline and gameplay are excellent. I also highly recommend the other games in the series
This game is a kind of sequel to Aveyond Rhen's Quest. It is a pretty good game, definitely as long as the previous one. The gameplay is just as game and improved gameplay options allow for the use of a mouse which is much better than keyboard only.
Super awesome game! It is likely one of the biggest games on the site and is definitely worth the money! I highly recommend it!
I spent 18 hr in total to finish this game. I love all the characters, the plot, and the game design overall. This game is so cute! If you love RPG you should check out the Aveyond series.
Bringing back primarily minor characters from the first Aveyond, Aveyond 2 draws the player into its unique story and threatens to never let them go again. ;P While I did love this game, overall, I have extremely mixed feelings on the goodie caves included within the game. One one hand I did appreciate the ability to quickly work my way through certain parts of the game. On the other hand, I thought that the caves took away the challenge, which is part of the reason why Aveyond is so much fun. But then, the caves can just be avoided, so that's not too big of an issue.
Even though I love the Aveyond series, this is my least favorite. I had explored everywhere, done all the quests, and was nowhere near the level I needed to be for the final battle. This is the only Aveyond game where I sought out the goody caves to level up, because I just couldn't bear having to fight the same creatures over and over to level up. The characters are the least interesting of all the stories (other than the fantastic militant squirrels appearance) and you can't really experiment with characters, as you need to play the same 4 to level up, as mentioned above. Still, it's Aveyond quality, just not as good as the first or the "Mel" series.
I'm a big fan of the Aveyond series, and this game is by far the best! Its has so many different things to do, packed with so many monsters, and side quest, and great humor. Its just simply awesome, I've been playing it for years and it still hasn't gotten old. If your looking for a classic style, computer RPG then this is for you. Though if your just started with the series, i recommend you play the first Aveyond, so you can follow the story.
I thought the first one is great, but this is AMAZING! The sequel is what you expected, and more. The graphics is better, battle system stays the same, and the quests is more this time. I would recommend first time player to play Aveyond first, to understand the story better.
In my opinion,it is not necessary to have played Aveyond I: Rhen's Quest in order to enjoy this game. It seems to take place a considerable number of years after the events of the earlier game. The structure is similar, however - a series of tasks must be performed leading to a final epic confrontation between good and evil. Here, Ean must help his friend Iya get the blessing of six nymphs so that she can regain the parts of her soul stolen from her by the evil Snow Queen. I found that the music contributed greatly to the atmosphere of the story. Graphics were good, although some of the settings were a bit too pastel and twee for my own tastes. There is plenty of monster-bashing and navigating maze-like caves, but there is also romance, a bit of character development, and humour. Having several different characters who can join or leave the party (each with different skills/spells/weapons) increases replayability.
