I have had Bejeweled 3 ever since it first came out and it's still my favorite bejeweled game, I have all the other bejeweleds too including blitz, twist and Bejewled 2. If you're looking for a story you won't find one here or on any of the bejeweled games. It's all about scoring and just plain fun. Some of the games are locked until you fulfill certain conditions to unlock them Overall, B3 had the best game variety, best graphics, and best music. I sometimes spend hours playing this. It's good to see it released on Big Fish.. I really love the ice storm game, it drives me crazy :)
What an awesome improvement from the 1st and 2nd series. Four play modes: Classic, Zen, Quest, and Lightning. We get badges or achievements which is great. I think all fishies love achievements/ awards in a game. For those who are experienced with the original and 2nd one, I recommend playing the lightning and quest mode. MUST TRY the bonus modes. When you unlock the "butterfly" and "ice storm" modes I strongly recommend you PLAY them - this is where the fun part is! These bonus modes adds a new twist and difficulty to the game. Forget the Classic Bejewelled...the bonus modes steals the show! The Ice Storm was heaps of fun and is an extreme challenge and I mean that in a fun way. The jewels get encased in ice and you need to keep making matches before the ice freezes all the way to the top. And it goes to the top unbelievably fast. I still managed to beat the top score - got the adrenalin pumping for sure. The Butterfly mode is a cute one. Certain jewels turn to butterflies but you need to keep making matches as the butterflies "fly" up a level. The challenge is to stop it from getting to the top or the spider catches it. The Zen mode is so cool. So many options to choose from - music, mantras, background sound (forest, waves, rain, etc) Gosh too spoilt for choice. The Devs really threw all the extras in here for a Zen mode - well done! You also get the breathing meter which helps you to relax as you play. (which I needed after playing "ice storm" mode) A white line goes up and down and you follow it to inhale/exhale. It was cleverly done and not intrusive at all. It really slowed down my heartbeat from that adrenalin rush. On top of that there's the mantras (short messages) you choose from prosperity, self confidence, loss weight, etc. Great background and the way you swing from left to right when choosing options. From the word go you could see the hard work that was put into this one. Well planned and thought of...great masterpi
This may be the first Match 3 game I buy: I loved it so much! Good Parts: My most favourite mode of all was Poker Mode. It was fun and a great challenge trying to make the best hands possible while avoiding the skulls. Quest mode was a brilliant new addition to Bejeweled. It was the first mode I played and was absolutely amazing! You had to play enough minigames to unlock a relic. Butterfly mode; one of the best modes of the game. Butterflies formed on the screen and move up with every turn. You must not let the butterflies reach the top, with the only way to remove them being to match them. Classic mode was back. I really liked Zen mode. Badges were available. Simple, easy controls. New and improved speed mode. So much fun! Great graphics all round. So much improvement from Bejeweled 2. OK Parts: Game gets a little repetitive. Some quest mode minigames were a pain. I didn't mind Digger mode, but not one I'd play again. Bad Parts: The one and only bad thing I would say about this game is Ice Storm mode; it was by far the most tedious and annoying mode of the game. Played it once and won't go back again. Almost every mode has been replaced, but it has resulted in one CRACKER of a match 3 game. Most definitely getting out the credit card for this one!
Fun game you can play forever. Has 4 areas to play and the graphics are really good. Timed game is fast and fun. I like the standard game. If you get over 100000 points you get a added game. Will keep your scores if you stop, so you can continue later.
I was so glad to see this game come out. The original Bejeweled game was the first casual game I played on the computer. I loved it then and I think that they added more fun to this one. I really and truly get tired of dark, sad, lost a mom, dad, brother, uncle, aunt, sister, etc games that are full of dread and dark same ole same ole, run back and forth games. I really like to play games like this to just kind of rest my brain and enjoy the fun and challenge of finishing the game on time or with lots of points. I really liked the other spinoff games and their challenges. I especially enjoyed the Poker game. Was different and you really need to watch what you are doing to try and beat the computer at its own game. I truly recommend this game to someone who wants just to play a game for the fun of it.
When I first saw this (2 years ago), it didn't seem all that different from Bejeweled 2. Then I started playing the new games and the demo was over in a flash. #3 has everything that was in #2 and lots more. The graphics are simple, but good, the game works well on a smaller screen. Sound effects are quite noisy and fun. Narrator sounds a bit like James Earl Jones. Runs well in Snow Leopard and Lion. There are 8 modes, four of which must be unlocked before playing. They all share the same powerups which you get by making matches of 4 or more. Classic - the original game - untimed - play until you can not make any more matches. Poker - untimed - make matches to create a poker hand Lightning - timed- as you play, certain gems appear with numbers. Make matches with them to extend your playing time. Ice Storm - timed - ice starts working it's way up the columns. Make matches in that column to destroy it. Zen - untimed - very relaxing. Click on the EKG sign above the Hint button to set Breat Modulation (works really well to relax me), Ambient Sounds, Mantra and Binaural Beats. The last requires headphones and comes with a medical warning - apparently it can cause all sorts of weird side effects - I haven't tried this yet. Butterflies - untimed- as you make matches, butterflies make their way up the board. Make matches with them to free them before they meet the spider at the top of the board. Quest - a sampler of everything - get certain goals in each of the games to progress. Diamond Mine- timed - make matches at the bottom of the board to destroy dirt and rocks to collect gold and treasure. My personal favorites are Diamond Mine and Butterflies (although I always feel bad when that spider gets a butterfly). This game will keep you entertained for days, and has good replay value.
I you love bejeweled you will love this version also.
Well, it looks like PopCap redeemed themselves from that disastrous Game of Life with this one. Bejeweled is the Cadillac of match 3 games, and this model is the sharpest one yet. It featured four kinds of play, Classic, Zen, Quest, and Lightning. The Quest mode is by far the most interesting one, in which you must race against speedy glaciers, a perpetually building wall of gems, and other things that could hinder your progress, depending on the puzzle you choose. Classic is what we all know and love best, but the Stargate-style effect when swtiching puzzles just adds to the coolness. I had not tried Zen mode, and Lightning features all kinds of tools and bonuses you can use right away to clear the board. This is the kind of game casual gamers can't seem to get enough of, and Bejeweled 3 is the kind of match 3 that keeps you up for all hours trying to beat it, not unlike The Heroes of Kalevala, but without the plotline and the irritating Louhi and her extremely annoying pet. This is pure fun for fun's sake, and you will not want to stop.
Im not a bejeweled fan, but i thought i would try it out for just a few minutes and ended up playing the whole hour trial, really got me hooked and a definate to buy. Love the mini games and it even has a poker game in the mix. Love it!!!!
I love this game, the graphics, the music and voiceovers, the sound effects and especially the multiple variations, including poker that you can play. SO glad this came to BFG.
