This one is a good family game. You defeat monsters by spelling words. Fun as well as a challenge. Even my 3 year old granddaughter loves this one (she finds and clicks on the letters as I spell for her).
This game is the best I have ever played. It has different monsters to battle and has different features and powers. There are also mini games to play which helps you to get more gems. Since I first bought this game I have loved it. The whole game that has been put together has been designed very well and is easy to follow what is going on. I can't wait to play Bookworm adventures 2.
Bookworm Adventures is a fantastic word game, suitable even for non-native english speakerrs. You get a grid of characters and must create a word from it to damage the enemy. To enhance your attack you can spell bonus words, use gem combinations and/or drink potions. The enemies become more tough as you play and have certain passive defensive abilites. So you must play cleverly and spell longer words. They have tons of attacks that damage you, prevent you from attacking, lock the grid and so on. If you get beaten up, you have a chance to collect gems and potions in mini-games. You also progress after defeating the enemy and improve your health, defense or attack. After completing the main game you can play mini-games or battle the enemies in the Arena. Certainly a lot of fun.
I'd give this more stars if I could -- as an English major it goes without saying that words are my "thing!" This game offers plenty of challenges for any wordsmith, and gives you plenty of time to come up with nice long words for more points. But you definitely don't have to be an English professor to play this game well and enjoy it -- there are plenty of words to be made from the letter selections given, and lots of potions and power-ups are awarded along the way to help Lex the Bookworm overcome the villains! The story is charming and cohesive, and some of the things Lex and the characters "say" are downright hilarious! Mini-games are fun as well. Highly recommended!!
This is a good game for anyone, whether you're 9 or 90. It is a really fun game and may seem easy at first, but can be pretty challenging when you get further into the game. Be ready for moderate to severe Bang-Head-Against-Wall-In-Frustration syndrome. :-) If you're looking for more wordy fun with Lex, I suggest Bookworm Adventure- Fractured Fairytales! Same gameplay, new, great enemies and story!
I love this game so much because it can actually teach young players how to spell easier! not only that, you may discover words that u might not have even known that that word was a word LOL! But anyways, one of the best spelling games I ever played, its #1 for me! go Lex!
As the bookworm says if you spell a large enough word: "Fantastic"! This is one of the best interactive word games that both my husband and I have played. We've had years of enjoyment from this one game!!! Both visual and audio is wonderful. There are 3 books you must complete and it becomes rather difficult the further you play. It also has 3 mini-games that will give you tools to help you beat the monsters and boss battles, for each level. If you finish the books, you have endless mini-games mode which you can race against your own high scores. It also has arena mode, which is always a boss battle. When you spell words, it gives you all the time you need to think, except for the mini-games and arena mode. This game lasts a very long time and can be repeated if you create another user name. You have several lives when you start off and if you loose them all, it will start again at the very beginning of that same level you finished. This game also has little extras in it, as well, that I cannot spoil. This game doesn't have a built in dictionary and will not take certain types of words. It also helps train your mind to think of many different types of words. The longer they are, the better you'll do, too! It's wonderful for the whole family and can be used as a great learning tool to teach spelling in a fun way!
its a great word game and is really fun!! play play play!!!
This game is so much fun really a challenge!!!
Like: - It's an easy to play Scrabble/Word Role Playing Game. - The storyline and characters make this an all-time great. - Mini-games - Humor - Graphics and sound are great for casual games - Before Bookworm Adventures 2, this was THE BEST WORD GAME, and arguably THE BEST CASUAL GAME OF ALL TIME. - Lots of replay value. - The only game similar to it is Dungeon Scroll. You just GOTTA get this. Caution: Kinda made obsolete with the release of Bookworm Adventures 2.
