Relaxing music and pleasing graphics make this a delightful brick-busting adventure. Those last two hard-to-get bricks can be skipped by catching the bird. Focus on releasing the Gwamos from their cages and capturing the monsters before breaking all the bricks. Otherwise, after the world is completed, you need to replay multiple screens to release the Gwamos you missed. HINT: Monsters require multiple hits to stun them. When you see the stars around them, use the right mouse button to release a net and capture the monster. If you wish to replay a specific level, abort the level before breaking all the bricks. This is handy if you miss releasing the creature, or need specific monsters to open a new world.
This game would be far more fun had an instruction page been included. Everything here is strictly a trial and error process. There are no descriptions of what the power ups will do or an explanation regarding the methods to dispatch the rodents, spiders, bugs, etc. in order to maximize your point total. On the plus side, the graphics are nice and the music is exceptional. Predicated upon the fact there is no help page, I give this game a less than enthusiastic recommendation.
Bad bad bad - shame on the developers for not giving any help section. I totally agree with the reviewer on the lack of instructions! Unheard of in any game I've ever played. There is absolutely no way of knowing what to catch or not catch, what is good or bad. I kept losing lives because I'd end up grabbing at falling items that turned out to have a very bad impact on my game play. If i'd had instructions or in-game help, I'd have known to avoid certain ones. I never would have known about capturing the monster bees without reading the hint from the second reviewer. How could this game have ever been released until they finished making it (i.e., "Help" "How to Play" or "Instructions")? I'm surprised BFG didn't test this out before offering it. I simply cannot recommend this to anyone. And I loved Brick Quest.
