A Bad Mark on a Great Series

For some reason, this one just didn't appeal to me. Good Parts: Blueprints have been automatically added so there's no need to waste money buying them. Technicians have been added for the power generators. I thought this new thing worked for the game. Great graphics. The new design of the game means great fraphics, something I've been waiting for. Casual Mode- I must admit, I never tried casual mode in the other games, but when I did, it was absolutely awesome. Pretty much everything is unlocked so there's no need to play the campaign. Awards added a great feel to the game. OK Parts: Power saving homes. I felt this added to the fun of the game, but sometimes this would have no effect on my power usage and would be a waste of time. Bad Parts: The entire power thing. I never had to worry about this in other games, and it really made the goals hard. Everything would always exceed my power limit so I had to waste so much time making energy saving homes. On top of that things that gave me more power had a negative effect on the neighbourhood, which drove down appeal on all the neighbouring houses as well, sometimes sending my appeal down by 30. The classic feel of the game was gone. Never hooked me. Not even once. Overall, this game was flat. It's a shame really, because this is such a great series.

Another great game!

I own all the Build-A-Lot games and love them all - this one is more of a challenge and great fun!

Another unique installment

loved the challenge of the power grid,,,thank you for this one.

Fun Time Management Game

Don't particularly like time management games but this one was challenging and somewhat a "nerve racer", kept me occuppied when I'm bored stiff :)

i liked it !

Very interesting, if u like this kind of game !

Loved this game.

I debated whether to even try this game because of some of the reviews. I just finished my hour trial and will be buying this game. I love the BAL games and have finished 1,2,3 and on vacation. IMO this game is as fun as the others. If you like the other BAL games you will probably like this one as well.

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! Great Game!

BAL4 was the first game I purchased on BF and it wasn't a bad buy. The best feature is the challenges you're given while to make deadlines, IMO it really isn't much time (probably why it's concered a challenge), but thank goodness for the pause button, lol. I'm impressed with the visuals. The ability to upgrade your homes, make them energy efficient, etc is awesome. But it's the tasks that I enjoy which reminds me why I love playing Time Management games. This game reminds me so much of Simcity4 it's crazy. I highly recommend this to people who enjoy a good challenge with a vast interest in redevelopment. Good Day!

The most difficult Build A Lot of the lot!

Having played all of the other Build-a-lot games, and thoroughly enjoyed them all, I left this one until last. I simply wasn't certain that I'd enjoy a game all about 'green, clean energy'. Whilst this game is based on the same gaming engine as the others, it does play somewhat differently and I'm finding this much more of a challenge than the others. On some levels there is a lot of quick thinking and tweaking to do just to pass the level. As well as workers, you also need technicians to make your houses more energy saving friendly. You will need a workshop to train the former as well as a tech centre for the latter. In addition, you will need wind turbines, solar systems and other clean energy sources to collect enough energy to keep your town going. If you don't, it's 'Goodnight Vienna'. The whole town loses power, during which time you don't collect any rent at all, neither can you sell houses. Not only do the usual buildings weigh heavily against your overall 'Appeal', but so do the wind turbines and other solar energy devices. This makes reaching a certain 'Appeal' target a real challenge (two turbines, a recycling centre and the tech centre cost me -90 Appeal). Once I got my head around how to play this complex Build-a-lot, I started to enjoy it a lot. If you want a builder that's got loads going on and is very challenging, this is it!

unable to finish

I own all 6. Have finished1235. Each had their own difficulties. This one I have barely been able to get into 'challenge' level. Has left me very frustrated. Even with walkthrough I've gotten not much more. I like the game but I would like to finish it!
