Review for game: Castle: Never Judge a Book by Its Cover
The dynamic duo of Richard Castle and Kate Beckett are at it again and they need your help. You will be tasked with tracking down a killer responsible for killing innocent victims that are oddly connected. However, this isn't any ordinary killer. The crime scenes are unique and dynamic, and designed to lead you off course. With each crime, things begin to hit closer to home. Eventually an eerie pattern becomes clear during the investigation. Will you be able to find the killer before there is another victim?

It's a very nice murder mystery story HOG. Great graphics of many different locations and scenes, fitting music, no voices, little environmental sounds and a little easy on the junior detective option. There is a jump map that shows where remaining tasks are still to be done. Great hint system and pretty fast skips for minigames. My only negative comment is that I would have enjoyed more environment sounds to make the game more immersive. Not a big deal, though. Very long game for a HOG. It was about 7 hours of technically flawless gameplay for me. Detail bonus: the HOG scenes are updated so that if you have to go back to the same scene more than once, the items you cleared before are gone. I really enjoyed this as I'm getting weary of fairy tale, fantasy and horror-house themes.
I'm glad that I don't depend on the reviews to guide whether or not I will try a game or not. If I did, I might have missed out on this good crime story. I will keep this short and sweet so that I can get back to playing the game. In addition to the storyline being pretty good, this game also offers: 1) A map that jumps you to locations, 2) Hints guide you to what to do next if you can't figure it out, 3) In the hidden object scenes, you have the items listed -- words -- and an option to see what they look like in silhouette mode, 4) In the hidden object scenes you will have items that require interaction. On top of all this, you have mini-games that are challenging but not difficult. The game itself is not difficult, but the story is great.
This to me is a 10/10 game. I am thoroughly engrossed in this game. And also being a big fan of the show. This team did a superb job with this game. Story: These two guys are at again tracking down what appears to be a serial killer. So needless to say Kate and Rick are going to be extremely busy. Just hope Rick doesn't get onto Kate's nerves in this episode. He has a wonderful knack for doing that, but yet they end up solving the mystery. Graphics: Absolutely superb. This team always had a top notch crew. Music: Perfect. Fits the game beautifully. Mini Games: Just right. Makes you think but doesn't get you frustrated. Map: Appears to be a jump map. Hint system: Works in and out of the H0G scenes. This is one awesome game. Kudos to the team for a job well done! You guys rock!
IHOPA (Interactive Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure) 5 Chapters. I was still in Chapter 1 when demo time was up. 2 play modes: Rookie/Veteran: I played the Veteran mode. No sparkles however black bar tips up at the top. Map: Transporter and flashes when it's time to move on, or your phone rings. It also tells you where to go or phone caller tells you to meet them somewhere. There is also a little yellow badge that will indicate if there is something to do in that location. Evidence board: Keeps track of suspect, victim, witnesses and evidence of course. No voice overs as there are text boxes that come up that you read and click through. HOS: All found by word list with some interaction Puzzles: The usual run of the mill found in many games. Nothing new here.Just to name a few: Flip the switches till they all light up, remove all the balls within 10 moves, repeat the sequence. They also have a box up at the top for puzzle info directions to the puzzle along with a reset button for some of them. Hint/Skip: Quick on charge up. Hint is also helpful outside of HOS. My overall impression: Well I start by saying I've never even heard of this TV show let alone watched it and having said this. If it's anything like this game then I've missed out on a great TV show. If you have played and enjoyed the James Patterson Women's Murder Club games then you should enjoy this as it's pretty similar to those games. It sure reminded me of those games. I was hooked to this from the get go and didn't stop playing until I got to the end. I thought the story was well told as it had twist and turns. Just when I thought I knew "whodunit" well I was wrong. I also really liked the characters in the game. I wish there would of been voice overs but I know that probably would of been very expensive for the developer here especially based on a TV show so for a SE version of a game I can overlook that. CE games I hold to a higher standard since they're twice a
I'm really not into Detective games, but I love this one! The graphics are fantastic, the story line, everything. I couldn't find anything wrong with it. The hint button tells where to go next & in some cases, where to go after that! I never saw the show on TV; as I said, I don't like detective games or shows. Some of the other game makers could take lessons from these people !
I'm a big fan of the show so I'm a bit biased, but I'm loving this! The graphics are neat, the story so far (I just started chapter 2) is very interesting and I especially love that you can choose between words OR silhouettes in the HOGs. More games should have that option, my daughter who doesn't read english yet could play far more games that way.
Fantastic! I just loved this game. The ending is wonderful because of the "surprise factor" as to the real killer and the reason for the murders. The settings are great! I loved the mini games. I look forward to the next story of "Castle". Not having a "walkthrough guide" made the game more challenging and thus, more interesting and fun. RJohn
Love the show and loved this game...Hope there are more coming like this one love Richard Castle.....
Please don't pass up. Worth the money. The game is long, and very spot on. I have been playing for 4 days now. Leave, to get a drink of beverage. I am still playing today. Some games are costly and not as good and long. Please enjoy.
You'd almost swear you're watching the TV program. They not only look like they do on TV but the lines are just like they are on the program. Rick is just as cute. I love the show and i love the game too! Well worth playing.! Thanks for a fun game! I just wish they'd really talked. I would have loved hearing their voices in the game instead of reading the lines but then I might as well watch the real thing if they did that.
