Fun game, cool graphics, love the puzzles, hidden object scenes, great music too!
I will be buying this game. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews - I didn't have any slowness in scene changes or fuzzy graphics. I have a new computer and sometimes have cursor problems that other people don't have. So you have to try a game to see how it works on your computer before assuming that is just the way the game is. (Ex: I have graphics problems with a game but neilskinut and others did not. Go figure.) HOS are many - but then it is a HOG so I expect them and am disappointed when they are few and far between. So I don't know why people would play a HOG and then complain about there being a lot of them. I did not find them fuzzy - they were well detailed in the usual pile of stuff (but they weren't that crowded and I could find everything). The music is a bit eerie - I liked it as well as the graphics which capture the medieval European theme. Puzzles sometimes take a little thinking to figure out, but if you aren't into them or simply get tired of looking for a solution, the skip button charges pretty fast. It shows how the solution was done (whereas many today just show the final result, if that). Gameplay seems very well thought out.
This one has voice over and the graphics are good. Little different in lots of the other games as you need to find items to open up areas to advance. The HOS can be challenging because the items are hid pretty good. Some puzzles are harder then others. The hint button is fast charging. After you solve some of the areas you get a map. There is a task to do list and a journal. Not that much going all over the place to find items but you need to find them to advance and open up areas. Has a good flow. Different game to play. Makes you think more than other games.
This game is a good game to relax with. The graphics are clear in some scenes, but somewhat dark and not as crisp in others as with more current games. - It does seem outdated but is still a good game. - I didn't find the accents of the voice overs to be thick. Plus there are subtitles if you need them. - The game has 3 levels of play, Casual, Advanced and Custom. I found that in order to use the Custom settings, you need to click on the radio button to choose that option but then also click on the word "custom" to get the personalized settings. You can select the difficulty of the HOS, Hint recharge time, Mini-Game skip recharge among other things. - The music is pleasant and didn't seem to be repeatitive. I would recommend this game and will get it with a game credit.
Great fun, good graphics, lasts a good while and not super difficult but just hard enough
i played casual, low sound. hints charge in 10 seconds and skip in 30 seconds. no map. you are trying to find out who is killing the people at the location. there are many HO scenes and i enjoyed them. graphics are good but some scenes are dark and some are crowded. i just did two mainly adventure games and i really enjoyed having a game where i didn't have to think too hard. haha!!! could have a sequel....but the end was pretty final for this installment.
Played 30 minutes, casual - 3 modes, casual, advanced and custom, a very nice plus as you can adjust the game to your likings - Voice overs - Journal, bottom right side of your screen - Map, can't say if it's interactive as I didn't try it - Instructions button but they're given to you as soon as you finish a scene - Quite a few cut scenes - Hint button refills really quickly - Skip button, fills quickly too - H0, you don't interact, a lot of them - Good, if not new, mini games - Good graphics A magistrate has been killed in a weird way, you investigate. A nice game on which I will spend a punch card credit.
I almost didn't try this game after reading the 2 reviews that were both negative, but I decided to see for myself. Ok the graphics were not as polished as some but they were perfectly ok . The storyline was quite good ,you are sent to investigate a series of brutal killings ,it appears that vampires are involved and judging by the amount of garlic about the place we are led to believe that But are they? Or is it a crazed killer? So far so good .Game played perfectly have no idea of sound always play without . As for the HO's well its ineresting they were thought not good! But for once they were relevent to the fact the story was set in the past and you found items you needed Also I clicked away merrily and didn't get a time out which for me is brilliant I am not a big fan of them . This game is a mixture of a lot of things it is most definately not the worst game I have played I enjoyed it enough to want to know what happens . The debate on graphics will run and run I wasn't that bothered that it was a bit dated Would I buy it now ? not sure I may use a free code or wait til its on offer
I actually enjoyed this game, even though it is pretty much a straight HOG. The graphics were nice (a bit grainy), HOGs were not bad (some very dark and hard to see areas), game play very nice. Fast hint recovery, games simple, music nice (I always turn it down because I prefer to listen to the voices and background noises, with a hint of music for FX). Very nice voice overs (always a plus for me). Although this was not a "spectacular" game, it was a very nice SE and one that kept my interest from the beginning. I got to the end of chapter 2 before my demo time ran out, so this obviously is not a very long game...either that, or I was just too fast...no, I think it's not very long. However, I was into the game enough to want to see who the nasty villain is, so I will use a credit for this one. As always, try the game for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and you may not care for it at all. Thanks for the reviews and have a great weekend!
Considering it's a non-collector's edition, it's not surprising if Gogii's quality is a little lower this time. Still, the suspense level was great enough for me to enjoy it. Not challenging though, the hint and solve puzzle options recharge way to quickly... quick enough before you even have time to solve the puzzles. I used this for almost all the game. Use a coupon on this, not money.
