Had to have this one!

I purchased this great game after 30 minutes of the free trial and have been playing it for nearly three hours! I find the graphics clear, the colours vibrant, and the voiceovers are top-notch. The HOs are on the difficult side and include inventory items and interaction, the mini-games fairly easy and there are fragmented HOs as well which gives this game a nice balance. Collector Edition quality in an SE!

Looks like another excellent fairy fale story with a twist.

Interesting story, intriguing enough to buy after finishing the trial to see what happens. Beautiful scenery. Voice over on the interactive characters as well as written dialog is helpful. Quick go to map is a bonus but it doesn't show any needed activity just your location but that's o.k., it's more challenging than being spoon fed the answers by telling you exactly where to go. It's worth buying.

This game is gorgeous!

Storyline: Bella gets kidnapped and it's up to the detective to find out what happens. Graphics: Absolutely gorgeous. Fantastic artist team. Mini games: Not to hard or easy, just right! Hint system: Had to use it once in a H0G but didn't notice how fast it charged. To busy with the game. Music: Beautiful, and it fits the game just right Kudos to this team for an awesome job well done. Loving this game and so is hubby which is a rarity.

Beast, Beauty & Some Romance

Not the regular story about Beauty and the Beast, but a fine take nonetheless; also not as dark as some of the other games that have come out recently which is great for this time of year. You're able to imerse yourself in a fairy tale with some darkness; based on whole game. 1--graphics are lovely especially when you get to the castle they brighten up considerably; though in some of the darker scenes it is hard to find an item. 2--help button is useful not only in the HO scenes but elsewhere and recharges fairly quickly. 3--interactive HO scenes where you have to find/open items to get items; also not only is there a list but parts of items to combine in order to get one. 4--Also items are true to the time period which I really prefer. 5--voices are good and give you clues as to what/who to look for next. 6--lots of locations to got to and an interactive map which shows a picture of the location so you can easily transport there (beam me up Scotty!). 7--a journal and a task list that you can easily refer to. 8--mini games are good some a little more difficult than others and they are skipable. 9--To me this game played longer than the regular SE, close to a CE, all that was missing was achievements and collectibles. All in all I found I really enjoyed this game though for some others it may take getting into it more before they find they like it. If this is the developer's first venture they did a great job for a SE, HO'S, adventure with a little romance thrown in. The only fault I found is that they left some characters hanging out there with no resolution.

game shiny

scenes are very nice, also the music, there are other simple and difficult puzzle. for all tastes as well as the hidden objects in some scenes where you have to find pieces of objects. I also like the dialogues that make the game less trivial, the game takes about 5 hours, casual mode. I hope others will come out of this kind.

REVIEW OF COMPLETED GAME

Like so many others, from reading the Tech thread, I thought I was going to have to pass on this game. The severrity of the lagging in the demo was dire. I shelved it but kept checking every day to see if there was a fix. No. Players were told to check their cards and drivers etc and it was apparent that the game was going to stand as was. The inevitable day came when I had nothing to play and a bunch of pccs I needed to start using. I bought it, thinking even if I can only tolerate playing in short bursts, at least it is something to fall back on in time of drought. About 15 mins later it was like the game suddenly decided it had had enough fun messing with my head, sorted itself out, and, hey presto! Near perfect game play. Go figure that one out. I am so glad I got to play it. It was really good. Wide screen graphics, beautifully done. Especially the interior decors of the mansion and castle. Quite lovely. A very well done adaptation of the classic Fairy Tale, well written and executed. The IHOS were clear and sharp and no junk piles. The puzzles were doable for the most part. I met a host of interesting characters. The music was sweet. I counted at least 60 locations so having a jump map was a must, though the WT was also necessary as the map did not indicate areas of interest. The hint button gave directions and filled super quick. Some of the cut scenes were a little off. Out of sync and very slow, but on the whole I really liked it. Nice long game for a SE. Took me 5 hrs. Even if I had paid for it, I would still be satisfied with this game. Nice one Devs.

More than fairly excellent tale

I tried the demo and then had to buy the game. it's an excellent revisiting of the Beauty and the Beast story and I have given it 5 stars for the storyline, which really drives the game forward. You interact with quite a number of characters on the way: all represented just by a picture when you talk to them, but well-voiced. I really liked the way you find out more about all these people as you go through. There is a good element of suspense in that you don't really know what's going on and have to find out. Other good points are the luscious graphics, and the music. Often I find the latter really annoying but this works with the story and doesn't distract. You get an interactive map, which is good as you cover a large area, although sometimes you might miss a clue if you jump back and forward too quickly (I nearly missed talking to someone as I'd gone straight to the wrong place). The HOS are of two kinds: find-things-on-the-list (with some interaction) and find-all-the-bits-of-the-object. Not only are the objects in the first sort appropriate to where you're looking, but if you found them once they disappear from the scene the next time. My only complaint about the HOS would be that you sometimes have to backtrack to a place you thought you'd finished with in order to find another object. I did resort to the help button a few times, to find where on earth I should try (played on hard mode). The other thing I mention, though it doesn't just happen in this game, is that you find something but haven't any idea why you need it. All is revealed later but occasionally you want to say to the game, "but why do I need to cut/open/pick x?" The various puzzles are challenging enough without being too difficult and the whole game feels more like a CE than an SE. All in all an excellent game.

Kept me guessing

I, personally, thought this was an excellent game. I know the Beauty and the Beast story and I'm sure everyone else does, too. This game, however, kept me playing all the way through trying to figure out what happened. The ending was rather rushed, but overall, it was a great story. The puzzles were fairly easy, but the game was a good length, well worth my money. No, the characters don't move their mouths or anything, but the voice actors are excellent, except for the maid. I didn't feel that the background music was annoying at all. Overall, I felt that this game was unique and fun. I'm glad that I bought it.

A refreshing return to basics

This is a game made with care, You can see it in every little detail, from the wonderful music and sound effects, to the artwork and story line. I guess it;s one of those "form beats function" things, since Fairly Twisted Tales is first and foremost gorgeous to look at. The story is nothing special and there's nothing new in terms of gameplay. Still, it's worth your time and i highly recommend it.

Fantastic Hidden Object Game

I played the demo and then I bought the game. The graphics and the story line are very good. It is true to the real story of Beauty and the Beast. I would recommend that you play the demo. I thought that the game wasn't too hard. I finished it in about 5 hours. Way to go Big Fish! Please keep these kind of games coming.
