This is an excellent game. I've never seen another one like it. I've played it and beaten it many times and every once in a while i'll play it again. Best strategy game I've ever played. I just wish they would have made a sequel to it.
It's a game that I love to play again and again.
Most recently I've put in at least 12 hours into my current game, and just got to the last section of the game. It starts out simply enough and prepares you for the increased difficulty. I've have this game for a couple of years now, and I keep replaying it. Its a great value and a lot of fun!
This game has so many nice features to it. One of the most impressive is its storyline and the gameplay. Your basic challenge throughout the game is to beat out your competition in various villages by selling the potions, buying the ingredients, and upgrading your stores. Although it's a time management game, it's not stressful nor impossible to win! The characters and comments on how you're doing each day are amusing and relaxing. You can also get a few good chuckles on the puns that are used in the scenes between the levels. The Fairy Godmother and her cast of characters are a real hoot! I think you'll enjoy the great graphics and the ease of playing the game (with just a touch of strategy). It's a great game for all ages!
One of my all time favorites. Purchased it when it first came out years ago. I rarely replay a game but I did this one.
Excellent time management game for the thinking player. Wonderfully presented, immersive and engaging, with a high replay value. This is quite a unique game, I've never played one quite like it. .
Buy ingredients to make & sell potions in your store. Buy low, sell high. Selling price is determined by the daily ?curse forecast?. You can hire various ?goons? to advertise for you or sabotage the competition. Customers have a variety of compliments, or complaints you?ll want do something about. Besides marketing, you?ll spend money on researching new potions, upgrading your store, spy devices, potion makers, in-store entertainment, warehouse and spells. Various contractors sporadically show up for hire?some good, some shady. Occasionally someone will show up with a problem they ask you to fix?and that?s still not everything. FGT is full of fairy tale characters (Red Riding Hood, Cinderella), with a modern twist, though I wouldn?t say it?s a children?s game. It might be a little too complicated for anyone under 12, but you know your child better than I do and there?s certainly nothing here I wouldn?t let a child see. Don?t skip the storyline because you?ll be missing quite a few laughs. Each of the 9 ?Kingdom? goals gets progressively harder. You won?t use the same strategy in all Kingdoms and new options appear as you progress. ?Only 9 Kingdoms? you ask? Yes, but it will likely take you a couple of hours in each Kingdom to reach your goal. No mad clicking. You can take your time and consider your best course of action (which I wasn?t doing or I wouldn?t have had to repeat one Kingdom 4 times). I?ve never had so much fun losing! Levels aren?t so hard you?ll need a forum to find the answer but challenging enough to keep you engaged (I think I went to the Loan Shark on every level). And you can speed up the game play after you?re over the novelty of watching all the goons and peasants do their thing. LOL funny, and when I wasn?t laughing out loud I still had a smile on my face for much of the game. I enjoyed FGT so much I even Googled the developers to see what else they had. OUTSTANDING job Mock Science Inc. You ROCK!
This game is fun and funny all at the same time! I have tried to find others like it without success. I love reading the hilarious daily forecasts, and dealing with the fairy tale characters. (although Sneersworth is a smarmy jerk who really needs to be hexed!) Even though this game is older, it is still one of my favorite go to games when nothing else seems fun.
I bought this one winter weekend, it seemed different, and i was bored. It turned out to be the best game I think Big Fish has put out in this category. It was fun, challengling in a relaxed way. Shame it ended. Needs a sequel badly. You will run into problems from characters that are SO funny & amusing..With the most unique outcomes. Put away the winter blues. Loved it !!!!!!!
If you are a fan of making money and trying to beat out the competition, then this might be the game for you. There is a Dash Flo game that is based on the way this game works (I think it's called dinertown.) You run into all sorts of characters, but you're building an empire trying to beat out the bad guys. If you like games with competitiveness about who gets to the top and like entrepreneur style games, then this might be one for you. Anyone prefer to the Auction House on games or bartering when selling and trading and building on games? This might be one to try out the demo. An oldie, but a goodie! The challenge will not be so miserable that you get frustrated and get stuck. :) It's great that by the end of the day it speeds everything up so you don't have to just sit around watching everyone walking into their houses. I'd recommend this game to anyone of any age.
