It was nice to see a game like Alice Greenfingers instead of another typical Farmtown type game. My problem however, is that on every level, the requirements are not given right away, you need to build up to them. I've played games like that before where one requirement is connected to the other and that's fine. At any point in the game each level requirement needs about 6 things to complete, which is too much and I always run out of time. Just finished one where you needed 10 milk and by that time I had accumulated quite a lot of cash, then the next requirement is to earn 1500 which I had more than that, but as soon as the milk was calculated, I was back down to a dollar. Which I was not happy about. Even though the graphics are terrible in Alice Greenfingers, it's a much less frustrating game. I still haven't found where I can sell a building and find I run out of room for buildings that require level completion. If I didn't have a game credit already I would not have spent the money for it.
I love this little game!!! If you love Chocolatier and Build a lot series because of great graphics, storyline, plenty of up-grades, etc....you will probably love this. They are time managed, but allows you to continue placing buildings, trees and plenty of room to plant your flowers and crops wherever you want, in any shape you want. Sometimes you forget about the time and just enjoy designing!
Please be aware before you buy this, if you have not played any of the Farm Craft games before, is that even though there doesn't seem to be many levels, each level is much longer than your average TM game and by much longer, I mean some of them can last up to 15-20minutes. Although it works different, so in each level you have several different 'mini' challenges to work towards. This game is piles of fun and each 'level' leads from you a small, poor farm into a massive blossoming one with helpers, buildings, animals. It's a really great game for any fan of TM farming games!
Not a bad way to pass an afternoon. My only issue is the blundering incompetence of the "helpers". I find myself collecting baskets of the animals' feed and setting it on the ground for future use, because the "helpers" will harvest those crops, bypassing the more profitable crops. While doing so, they'll get in Ginger's way in their compulsive need to steal food off her pigs' plates. I understand the way around this is to plant more than 12 of each crop, but in the early stages of a chapter when funds are limited, that isn't always a viable option. Other than the irritating habits of the "helpers", Farm Craft is a fun and easy game.
This game is so much fun, and challenging at times. I play it over and over, and I never get bored. I so wish they would make a farmcraft 3 but I don't see that happening so I will continure to play this one over and over.
I very rarely quit a game but this is one that I did. I am only writing this review because a 5-star game this may be for time management enthusiasts but I think casual TMers will be disappointed. The story is engaging and graphics are cute but the timer is way too fast for me. I got trophies on two out of 7+ levels (quit in the level that starts with helping the supplier get a new store for $300). First few levels were fun (demo time) but once out of that, the levels became extremely long and boring to me and way too much repetition. Constant dig, plant, fertilize, water, pick, feed, and then start the routine all over again. For those who like this sort of repetitious game, enjoy! If not, I'd say skip this one or at least try before you buy.
One of the levels of this game is titled Money, Money, Money. The only parameters set are the time you have and the amount of money you need to earn in that time frame. The player has to decide how to to play to earn the money. I've been playing that level every day since I purchased the game in Feb. 01/2010. There are many different ways to earn the money and I never tire of finding new ways. Love this game!!
Just love this game and have been playing it for some time now. Good value levels and each with a different twist. I really like the different strategies needed to play this game and it is never boring. It may not have an amazing storyline - but it more than makes up for it with the different challenges and skills you have to work out. Perfect choice for anyone who likes time management with a difference. Great game and great value!
Bought this game after the trial -- I got hooked! It's a great game to test your strategy to gain LOTS of money to achieve the goals of each level. It's a little bit different from most farming games in that each level is a new farm with new farming conditions and plants. Your farm is not the only thing - you also get to hire people along the way to help you out. Expect to use some strategy to win the trophies; it's not as easy once the levels get going! Loved the storyline and the graphics. Another unique thing is that you get sound effects once the produce or products are done to prompt you to sell, sell, sell! I would recommend this game to anyone who likes the farming TM games and wants to play a game that you can win (and get rewarded along the way with trophies!).
I've had this game for a couple of years now, but I don't delete it out of my game manager because it is so much fun to play. While the storyline is hokey, there is something about the game play that is absolutely addicting. There is a timer on this game, but it is for getting gold, so you can play a level for however long you need to, then go back and replay it to get a better score. The initial levels go pretty quick--5 minutes or so. Just know that the later levels can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to play, so it's good to make sure you have enough time to play a level. For those looking for a farming or gardening game that is different from Farm Frenzy or Farm Mania, I highly recommend this game.
