Horrible graphics. Annoying music. HOS objects pitifully drawn. Stupid & annoying interruptions. Dumb story, And who cares about REO Speedwagon? I couldn't take more than 5 minutes.
Anyone who was a fan of REO Speedwagon back in the day or even still is now, will heartily enjoy this fresh take on a hidden object mystery. It features music from the band as we follow the misadventures of a rock magazine reporter that has been shadowing the band for quite some time. There are all kinds of puzzles to solve, and you not only need a keen eye, but a sharp ear, because you will be playing a rock version of Simon, and putting together puzzles that give you access to some great tunes. If you came looking for a dark mystery to solve involving ghosts, Victorian mansions and secret inheritances, this is not the place. This is as modern as it gets, and the furthest back you might go will be to The Summer of Rock in 2012, which not only featured REO, but Styx and Boston. Yeah, it doesn't get much better than that! In this game, you find that on the eve of a red carpet gala at the home of a rich recluse, Kevin Cronin has gone missing, and you'll be using your reporting skills to find him. If you want to bring your passions for classic rock and mystery/puzzle solving together, you can not let the opportunity to play Find Your Own Way Home to slip by!
After finishing the game I can say that it was a great one. Especially since it is essentially a promotion game, of which there are some REALLY bad ones out there. The developer put a lot of thought into style, variety and gameplay. After the demo I ran into some more minigames (traffic lights, keeping the boat together for example), adding to variety. Graphics were clear and sharp. Other forum reviewers had problems with that, not me. But yes, some objects were a bit small. Yes, it was a bit complicated figuring out the level with the photos (double-click on the negative, keep holding the mouse buttons until you found it on the screen and a white square lights up, left-click to take the picture). Also, the hints seem to be limited to 10 seconds before you have to wait for a reload. But I didn't need any hint early on. earning the "7 levels without help" achievement easily. All in all I only got three minor issues with the game: - some objects are too small - "Keep on loving you" and "Find your own Way home" are not posted into the MP3-player and can only be heard during the final level and during the photo montage at the end - "Can't fight this Feeling" is not in the game Bottom Line: If you are into REO Speedwagon this game is a must play. If not I can still recommend it if you are into hand drawn scenes and objects.
