Challenging

I bought this game years ago when it first came out. I've replayed it twice. I found it challenging and fun. Give it a try!

Classic Fun!

Though certainly different than the games we are used to in 2012 - this game stands the test of time! This was one I played repeatedly when it was released and found it a fun challenge every time! Cute storyline and the gadgets you get throughout your journey really add to the game! Give this game a try, you'll be glad you did!

Could have been quite a good game

The thing I did like about this game is that you can click on an object in the "to find" list and get a picture of it (accompanied by an unnecessary and facetious description and history). The thing which really spoiled it was the space taken up by lists, timer etc., so the actual search area is crammed into less than two-thirds of the screen. Try again, Toybox games!

not so bad

Hello, I am purchasing this on the daily deal, it's actually nice to have a game that you don't need to think too much about. You need to collect all those extra hints just in case though... the previous reviewer mentioned that the items can be viewed with a lot of info, you don't need to read the info, the one thing that is great is it shows the item in the color it is, so it's a little easier to find than just a shadow picture. Some of the items can be very well hidden. Nice game to play between some of the more difficult ones.

REQUIRED MINI-GAMES ARE RESTRICTED

To eventually find the missing relics, you've got to EARN the "helpers" which would've been fine EXCEPT that the mini-games in the shop are either restricted to time or restricted to the number of moves that you're allowed to take to accomplish the tasks AND of course, they become harder each time you play these same mini-games: *picture puzzle -- timed *Hanoi stacking puzzle -- timed *Memory game (flipping the cards) -- restricted # of moves *Sliding picture -- no idea as I'm extremely poor in doing it The hidden object scenes are EXTREMELY grainy with small objects with even smaller magnifying glasses (which increases your hints) and the only thing that this game really has going for it is the book that will open up to show you what each item looks like.

Still Fun After All These Years!

I bought Hidden Relics when it first came out years ago and I keep coming back to it. There are so many facets and it doesn't feel dated to me even now. The storyline is interesting. The developers put a lot of work and thought into those fake descriptions of the antiquities you're searching for. They're cleverly written with great attention to detail. I enjoyed the music and the visuals. Objects weren't terribly hard to find and you can earn hints which are very helpful along the way, and I did use those occasionally, along with the descriptions and images - which were also helpful. For each location, you receive a letter grade - and I found that fun and a nice twist on the usual point systems. There are two levels of gameplay and I recommend playing them both, if you are looking for a challenge. The mini-games play an important part in the story. They help you gather the tools you need in order to find some of the objects which are *truly*hidden. You can only find them with one of the tools. You can choose when to play the mini-games and they get progressively more difficult as you earn more tools which adds to the challenge. It took me awhile before I realized that there were built-in hints as to what tools should be used in what locations to find the special objects, but once I did, it made it possible for me to find them all within the time limit. Yes, there is a timer, so if you're looking for a completely relaxing experience, this probably isn't it. But if you're looking for a game to engage you, with a lot going on and a good challenge, one that you may find yourself coming back to again and again, then I recommend Hidden Relics. At least give it a try!
