Absolutely fell in love with this game from the get go. My personal preference is not of the hog genre and more of the puzzle and adventure and this fits the bill enormously. Played the trail, bought it and five and a half hours later - some housework actually got done! Could not put it down. Love the detective angle, the murder scene and the large showy house you get to roam around in. In adventure games I tend to get lost or forget what I am supposed to be doing - not in this game - it kept me right on track and did not give me so many open scenes at one go. Not much tooing and froing. Absolute gem!
I played the trial and, based on that, I love this game! The graphics are good as are the voice-overs and the hints are very helpful and re-fills plenty fast for me. The objects aren't too difficult to find, either. As many have said, this game is better than some of the CEs offered and I agree. Another plus for me is it doesn't appear to have any occult themes. I will probably wait until next month and get it with a coupon code from the sale we just had but this game is definitely on my "to buy" list. I suggest you at least try it. I give it 5 (*) and a
This game Great Graphics, Great voice overs, interesting mystery, easily understood journal. I expect this game company will be doing more great games and hope they stick with adventure mystery games. Try this game if you like mystery games of "who done it" i don't think you will be disappointed. The game length is long 5 hours for me. I rather find circle hidden objects if I have to play hidden object games. I am so Bored with the random list after 7 years of membership I have bought nearly them all. Time for a change and glad to see the Game designers agreed. I love the interactive adventure games. One small flaw I would have liked less Hidden objects but that is just because I am so burned out with normal lists of hidden objects. However the way this is done, fast refill for hint, made it less of a bore. I am an adventure gamer at heart. I did not like the mini games too much of same, however fast skip so it was no problem.
The developers have sucessfully managed to devise a rather machiavelic plot full of suspense and unexpected twists, which holds the road quite well and thickens as it slowly unfolds. The introduction is neither particularly original nor outstanding, but what seems to start off as a routine job rapidly turns into a surprising investigation. Requital is a very good adventure that kept me glued to my comp for a good 6.5 hours non-stop. More than just a game for rainy days, it has a lot to offer. The artwork is varied and very pleasant to the look, though not overly sumptuous, with quite a few scenes to explore and re-explore. The voice-overs are not bad at all in the form of comments or interactive dialogs, and always come up at the right time. The same applies to the cutscenes. So does the incidental music which is played at certain moments only, and never lasts very long. Here the music is used to emphasize. Although there's a fair amount of bouncing from here to there, that's never a hassle thanks to three aids: a map giving your current location and where you have to perform some action, the detailed objectives and the Hint System that not only helps you find hidden items but also shows you where to go next if you've lost your way. All HOS's are fairly neat, only a few items are a bit difficult to find, and they are all given as drawings (not silhouettes) of what they look like, in sets of circular boxes. You will have plenty of useful items to look for and no less actions to perform; none are so far-fetched as to get you desperately stuck; in fact they are all moderately difficult. Puzzles and minigames are plentiful too, all of them good fun, highly solvable, except three that are a bit tricky, and with a few innovations. The only criticisms I could make would bear on the replayability factor since half the enjoyment lies in not knowing "who dun it and why", the playtime which I found a bit too short and the level of diffficulty which was somewhat low for me. Yet I enjoyed Requital very much and I d
I really enjoyed this game. As a matter of fact, I spent the better part of the day playing it, and didn't stop until I completed it. Sound and visual was very good. The story had good continuity and was relatively common sense where to go next. I don't usually complete my games in one day, but this was so engaging I had to finish it. Great game!
Loved the game. Great graphics, voice overs and pleasant music just playing in the background. For a nice change I liked the hidden objects in circles thingie (not sure what its technically called). Took me about 8 hours to play, just taking my time. I'm hoping there will be a sequel as ending was a bit of a surprise and left it wide open for a good sequel.
I played the demo on this game and had to buy it! For once I did like the HOG's where you have to find parts instead of objects. The puzzles were quite challenging and the game play was excellent. The pace of the game is good and you do have to think where to go and what to do next. Best game from BF in a while.
The story: You take on the role of a doctor who is summoned to a hotel to tend to a patient in a mountain location with a murder afoot as you come across a few dead bodies. There are 2 playing modes: Casual and Advanced. I played the advanced mode. Just like most games, the hint/skip take longer and it states you can turn off the sparkles however even though I checked it, there were sparkles for the hidden object scenes however it didn't bother me at all as that is the only part of the game I came across them. This may or may not be the case for you. There is also a journal which keeps your notes as you use some notes in the journal for clues on how to solve some of the puzzles and the "story" which is a lot of reading if you are one to "follow the story" however the game does have voice overs to it. The journal will also show you the tasks that need to be completed along with a map. The map doesn't allow you to use it to travel back/forth locations however the map will show you where you are in the game and also show where there are things to do. The hidden object scenes:The objects to be found are shown in a circle for placement so no word list like most of the hidden object games which is similar in this regard to "Mystery of the Crystal Portal" just to name one if you've ever played this game. There's also quite a few puzzles. The hint/skip takes about a minute or two to charge up and ready for use. The hint (a wolf) will also help you along if you do happen to get stuck on where to go next in the game as it will either show you where to go or tell you "nothing at this time." My overall impression of this game: The story: I found to be very well done as I was hooked right from the get go and held my interest to the very end as I purchased it immediately after the demo. As for the ending, I guess I'm in the minority as I really enjoyed the twist and turns in this game and to me seemed to be based on Agatha Christie's "And Then The
I highly recommend this game. Enjoyed it more than any in recent memory. A rough estimate is 10% Hidden Object - 20% Puzzle - 70% Adventure. Hard core HO fans will not be thrilled. Each hidden object scene results in a tool or object you need to put together to further the game. No unnecessary objects to find here! The puzzles are challenging enough to keep you interested but none are major mind benders. Skip option charges in a couple of minutes. Adventure fans will be in heaven because this game has a complete mystery to unravel. Nothing supernatural. Just good old greed, corruption and revenge. The story reveals itself slowly and well. It even has conversation trees. The voice acting is surprisingly good. Not too talky - just enough. Hints recharge immediately and there is a direction option so you know where to go. The journal adds a lot of information and includes a map with active areas noted, a goals list and a summary of each character in the game. Didn't need a walk through but I'm used to fumbling around until I figure it out and I could check the map. Took about six hours for me to play. Like any good murder mystery, clues are given for everything and by the end you have a complete resolution. The graphic are excellent - very clear and vibrant and full screen on a 23 inch monitor. The music was great. For example, it became more urgent when you found a dead body. The game worked without problem on my computer. Lots of different areas to explore and, of course, much back and forthing which I love. And it has a sense of humor! Just a great fun game. The only thing I didn't like about it was that I'm done. Please, Sir, may I have some more?
What can I say!!! I WISH I COULD FIND EVERY ONE LIKE THIS!!! Absolutely a great game, all the way around, except for the ending!!!!?? Is there a sequel to this? This was truly enjoyable; excellent 'who done it". It will definitely hold your interest! Length of game is really good, suspense is great. Murder mystery, not for the faint of heart! But, oh sooo goood!!!! P. S. I didn't even mind the HOs!!!!
