This is a pretty good HO game. It is not like the current HO games in that there is no lead in, no cutscenes, a very mild storyline, no characters, no music. It's like BAM!, let's get started. The basic story is you are cleaning the house and area of ghosts. The HOs are challenging, the puzzles are all jigsaw but entertaining, and you battle lots of ghosts. This is a timed game with penalties for using the hint button. I think the penalties very from 10 to 30 minutes depending on where they are used. You collect some rewards, but you collect them no matter what. There is a journal that can be a little helpful, but really is no necessary to the game. As a semi-straight HO I have to admit I enjoyed the game, and finished in what was for me a little less than average time. I would recommend this game as a relaxing, fun filler game.
Good solid game with a different kind of animation, effects, locatios
Based on the demo. The graphics are dark, even with my monitor set to the brightest level, but otherwise ok. The characters are campy, funny. The audio is very good. This game is almost entirely puzzle/hidden object. The hidden object scenes are so dark, it's hard to find some of the objects. The puzzles are very clear. No adventure to speak of, at least as far as I got in the demo; although there are scenes where you get to shoot as many ghosts as you can in a short time period.
I played the demo for 15 minutes and just quit. The way the game is set up I found extremely irritating. It takes quite a lot that I'm confused and don't know what to do. Not even at the beginning I was quite sure how to exit the "introduction" to the game. I also found it extremely unnerving that in each scene you had the "feet" symbol, that showed you in which direction you can walk. And at every given moment you have name tags all over the screen, if you found something, you can look up something, what the object is etc. and "bang" new pop-up with another message; that really spoils the whole game. The cut-scenes were kind of ok but well, as you might have figured out by now .... this game I found simply terrible.
Absolutely awful.........gave me a HUGE headache, HOS virtually impossible !! I'm normally quite good at these, BUT.....I spent nearly 10 mins on the first one. Had to find gems to combat the ghosts and these were very hard to find...and you have to fight the ghosts to continue to other areas...if you can't find the gems you are kaput !!! Basically a very annoying game. No intr, just type your name and BOOM you're in front of a big mansion....a bit of back story is always nice, isn't it ? However it may suit someone else to a T....as always try before you buy .....Happy Christmas Fishes....and a great 2014 x
Based on 15 minutes of the demo. First the good - and there isn't much: The jigsaw puzzle was FUN and had just enough challenge to make me happy. The HO was horrible. No indication that the list of items extended beyond the visible screen and that is really unpleasant. I have this habit of using a hint for the last item in an HO. Did so with this and the item certainly didn't look like any kind of "bow" I'd ever seen. Imagine my surprise when the bow was still on the list. I scrolled around, but not apparently enough because the next time I couldn't find the bow, yet another unfamiliar item was removed and I still had to find the bow. Get the picture. Not for me. But I gave it 2 stars for the jigsaw. BTW, for those who complained about no back-story. I got the "lady of the house" on video at the very beginning. Several vids of her and the groundskeeper are entertaining, but don't save the game.
I tried playing the game and as much as I love playing the hidden objet games, this one just gets to me. It is not easy to find certain items that we need to continue onto the game, also the hint buttion tells us a bit what to do but when we get there, Nothing....I just started the game and I'm already stuck at the beginning...I can go upstairs but from there, theres nothing else i can do..So, to me this game is frustrating..There is no way of finding answers to our questions and on how to get a some king of solution to continue the game when we are stuck.. So in all, I do not recommend this game unless they would make certain changes on it..Sooo sadd....
Poorly designed game - should be taken off the market. The graphics are blurry in and out of the HOGs. Some of the background of the HOGs makes it difficult to see - such as finding little or skinny things against a background of ivy. No music or special effects adjustments - just toggle on or off. Two minutes for a hint recharge? Way too much times, especially if it adds minutes to your playing time. No reason why you are at the mansion - journal doesn't say why. No cutscenes explaining why. Puzzles are repetitive. Even as a DD, it's $3 too much.
BF must have dug deep into the musty cellar to find this disaster. It was probably filed right next to the original copy of Pong. At least Pong had some merit for its time. This game has absolutely no merit. I could barely stand to make it through the first HOS in the demo. One item listed was a clock. Look for a clock face, right? Wrong! It was the very bottom and side of what might be a grandfather clock, which I had to use the hint to find. The hint button charges very slowly, too, and you are penalized for using it. There isn't a beginning to the "story" if there is one. Boom, you are in front of a mansion. Why? Who knows? This is my new champion for worst game ever. The developers might want to consider a new line of work.
After a few moments into the demo I knew I would not like this game. Did not capture my attention. Did not find it to be original. This game was not for me but it may be for someone else.
