I bought this game for 2.99 and wasn't expecting much. When the game started and I saw the graphics, I wasn't impressed...but wow! I had so much fun playing this game. Lot's of puzzles and layers to this game. I loved going back and forth between the real world and the shadowy world. The puzzles and HO's are pretty simple, but the storyline more than makes up for that. It is well worth your time.
This game was a lot of fun to play. It had a nice, creepy quality to it, and the games were challenging, but not impossible, to win. It is also a long game. My only negative comment would be that it was not always clear where a particular object should be played, and there were times when an object could have been played one place but it had to be used at a different spot. But overall, it was a fantastic game, and I have played it more than once.
This was the first hidden object game I played, & I thoroughly enjoyed it, got me hooked on the genre LOL. It has a nice combination of hidden object, puzzles & adventure components. The map is a real asset, & limits the back-tracking & repetitious movement between scenes as you can just jump to a particular area. The graphics are hand drawn & while some people seem to have problems with type of graphic, I enjoyed them, & found them to be generally crisp & clear. The only negative, was some of the acting in the voice overs was a bit 'average', but for me, in no way detracted from the game.
I had a LOT of fun playing this game. I had never played a HO before quite like it. I found the visual story quite amusing as I moved about the mansion in my search and quest. The difficulty level was medium although I used the hint button more than a few times to point me in the proper direction. I was sorry it ended. You will enjoy this journey.
This was one of my first hidden object games and I must say I really ejoyed it! The hidden object scenes are well done and the objects fairly easy to find. Navigation around the mansion can be difficult and there were times that I wasn't sure where to go next. The graphics are good and there are some eerie moments that add to the enjoyment. The storyline is very good and it was one of those games that are addictive and you dont want to turn it off! The puzzles are good and range from easy to quite diffcicult! I wish all HOG were like this one.
I'm fairly new at playing hidden object games on my MAC so get in trouble often. I loved this game. I played the easy game and never (well, not often) got in trouble as the game let me know where I still might want to check out another spot or back to an old one as well as areas that are complete. I sometimes can't figure out how to get from point w, back to point f; especially if i slept in between sessions. It didn't tell me what to look for, just as there was an area i had not explored or might want to look at again or the area is completely cleared. The mini games were as challenging as always. the game always recognized my solution. The graphics are great! o, this is not to say easy...but if you do have to get a hint, you feel like such an idiot for not seeing it! i only had to go to the walk through once when i could not figure out what was wanted on one of the mini games. THAT IS A RECORD! ALMOST A MIRACAL! i never had to restart the game because i couldn't get back to missed section. i don't mind having to restart a game...that part of the game but it was lovely not to have to. I am no spring chicken and play these games to keep my brain active. i love to put jigsaw puzzles together and finding objects has helped me do those faster. my mom was joy filled when she found solitaire on the net. were she alive, i think i would have gone down and spent a could of days getting her involved by first playing the game together and then gradually leave it more and more to her. she would have loved it. I hope to find more games by these designers who made a game for the casual player as well as the expert players.
This is a game that all other games should be measured by. It has it all, beautiful graphics, haunting score, memorable characters and an engaging plot. As if this were not enough, it allows you to play as a male or female character and tailors the voice over accordingly. Good variety of puzzles in addition to clearly rendered hidden object scenes. This was the first hidden object game I ever played and it got me hooked on the genre. I have played dozens since but I still love to revisit the Manor!
The graphics in this were wonderful. The puzzles were great also and I loved going back and forth in time or places? Keeps your interest going. Would recommend to everyone. Wish they had a sequel!
I really enjoyed playing this game. It was truly excellent on several levels. The complexity was great - have to find crystals, book pages, keys, machine parts that all combine to form a larger more complicated plot. The interactive map that let's you track your progress and determine where you have active tasks available is the best I've seen yet on any BF game. You can even jump to a location by clicking on the location within the map. The story is interesting if a little predictable. The playing time was quite long! It took me several sessions over several days to complete it. I really liked how different locations had three versions - dismantled, dark and reconstructed so even though you were visiting locations more than once the scenery and tasks were quite different. The hidden object scenes were well done with some easy and challenging objects to find. I had to use thints more than once which by the way were very helpful unlike some other games. These were interspersed with mini-puzzles that were intermediate in difficulty and not ridiculously hard. The mini-puzzles were also quite varied from Match 3s, rotating puzzle rings, string detangles, gear connections etc. The ONLY thing that was sub-par on this game were the voice overs. They were pretty lame but the great thing is once you read the text you can click anywhere on the screen and voices go away so you are not forced to listen to them. The graphics are beautiful. The music is subtle and neither distracting nor annoying. This is now my new favorite game. I'd strongly recommend it - well worth the money!
When I looked at the Reviews of this this game I thought Shall I or not. Its just as well I did as this is one of the best games Ive played in ages. The cartoon Graphics are good and clear and the hidden objects were not to hard to find. The hint works well if you need it. The Voiceovers are good, and the storey line was very good. The Developers have done a great job to keep the interest of the player. Over All this games is well worth getting and I hope there is more of the same to come in the future.
