The trial version did no justice. Thought game was for children at first, but was I wrong. Game develops a good story line that begins with an tragic, unhappy incident, yet, progresses along the sci-fi realm. The sky was the limit in creativity and imaginations! Artwork was terrific--such talent!
This was a lot of fun. I loved the artwork and the storyline right up to the ending. I thought a major detail in the end of the story didn't work but I probably care more about the story than most. The whole rest of the game was exceptional!
This is a game I beta tested & was pleased to see it finally released as this is a lovely game; the graphics very clear & sharp, the artwork was a little ?twee? in the beginning but once you leave the house it becomes rather surreal in tone; it is quite beautiful & filled my widescreen. There are some really lovely details ? my mouse touched some bottles hanging in a tree & they tinkled. You have a journal with a map showing where you are & where there are any tasks to complete, it is not interactive so you will have to walk between scenes but this gives more time to appreciate how enchanting they are. The hint recharges in around 30 seconds on easy mode & 1 minute 45 seconds on hard. On easy mode items of interest glint & there are very large sparkles to show the H0 scenes; unfortunately these large sparkles also appear in hard mode, I would have wished them to be less intrusive. The hidden object scenes are excellent as there are interactive items & the mini games are not too hard although they do not come with instructions so you may need to use the hint. There are 33 origami figures to find throughout the game; I always love it when there is a game long task. Make sure you scrutinise the scenes as they are not always easy to see at first glance. Unfortunately there is no voiceover however the music suits the game & the background sounds are nice enough. Definitely a game to try.
Like others, I thought the game was geared to children at the beginning. Then the storyline took a weird twist and the subject matter became too intense for young kids. A couple of occurrences took me by surprise and one had me feeling kind of sick but chuckling at the same time. One word popped into my head at the moment: "twisted." Found the unexpected appearance of one particular origami pretty funny, too. There was an "awww" moment at the end. The gameplay was relatively easy and the artwork clear. The game itself took only a couple of enjoyable hours to complete.
I really loved this game! My only quibble with it was that I managed to detect all the hidden origami figures, but still couldn't access the bonus puzzle mentioned in the tutorial. Evidentally, that's only part of The Collector' Edition. Still, a hugely entertaining game that i look forward to playing again.
As I've played many HOG's now, I find myself being dissatisfied and unfullfilled at the end of many games because the story ended weak. This story wasn't at all disappointing at the end! So as not to spoil anything that's all I will say but this ending actually seemed to reward the efforts of the game and completely resolved the story. The graphics in this were amazing! Some very beautiful artwork in this one. This has to be one of my favorites I've played so far.
This was fun. Hubby and I like doing these together when we are free to do so. It is challenging enough that you struggle in places to find the objective. We only found 31 of the 33 origami but overall enjoyed the game. The characters made us laugh at times, and some of the tricky twists and turns had us temporarily stymied. Then when the solution revelaed itself, we would chuckle at the absurdity. Fun, colorful, and not boring at all. I do have to mention the storyline is odd... but the game is good.
Very imaginative game. Fun. Well worth buying
I had almost given up on adventure games. Too much trite stories, too much backtracking to the point of distraction, too many boring HOS. And this one made me remeber why I loved them in the first place. Everything was perfect.
I felt the artwork was great!!
