After Otherworld, Spring of Shadows, Fiona is under your care, but still in danger. So, you have to find her teacher, Ms Thomas, and enter the magical hidden world. Now, you have to find three relics to defeat the Shade! You will return to Fiona's school, fight again the Shade, interact with crows and will have a great adventure! Great graphics, crisp and very well done. Excellent music, VO and sounds. Neat cutscenes. Immersive atmosphere, very nice colorful and beautiful locations. It has a journal with tasks and characters. Interactive map - you can jump to another location. 19 Interactive HOS, not too difficult but enjoyable. 66 interesting and entertainment Mini games, some brand new, very enjoyable. Good level of challenge. Collectibles: 60 fairies. Nine chapters plus epilogue. Bonus puzzles. 15 achievements. Strategy guide. An excellent HOPA. I bought after half an hour playing!
This CE is worth every single penny!! Beautiful settings, astonishing creatures, thrilling story? You won?t stop playing! 3 modes to choose from, 9 chapters (+/- 5 hrs to play), 15 achievements to earn and 60 fairy-collectables to find! We have a map, which allows us to jump from location to location. A detailed journal is also available and we have a very good hint-system, telling you what to do next. A good balanced amount of very interesting iHos and minigames, wonderful designed (lots of new ones!) The bonus content includes replayable cutscenes/ minigames and of course wallpapers, concept art, soundtrack and strategy-guide! This one is even better than the first one of this series ?Spring of Shadows?, which I loved also!
This game has it all! They even topped their first game which was already brilliant. There are three levels of difficulty to choose from, a journal, a map that allows you to jump to locations, a list of goals, descriptions of characters, achievements to be won, and fairies to find along the way. No junk piles! The HOG's were done really well. They were interactive and when accomplished became part of the adventure. Unlike most in which the location disappears after you find all of the objects. The mini games were of a decent challenge I thought. Not incredibly hard, but not too easy either. The graphics are crisp and beautiful. It was a very nice sequel to the already brilliant original game.
People stopped believing in mystic creatures and drifted further and further apart from Otherworld. Without the people?s belief, Otherworld will die and so will our world ?. It?s a pure fairy-tale game, taking you into the world of mystic creatures, wonderfully drawn locations that are bright and extremely colourful. The soft background music fits the storyline and the developer has not lacked to pay attention to details. You will not find your classical hint button, but a ?guide? that tells you what to do next (in case you get lost). Throughout the game you will collect fairies. There are two modes to play, standard and expert. Loads of mini games that I absolutely loved and they are not your standard mini games, but new ones and again absolutely fit into the theme of the game. There are very few HOS? another aspect, that I really appreciated about this game. The first 10 minutes playing the demo I wasn?t quite sure if I liked it. But the longer I played on the more I loved this game and finally bought it (and don?t regret it at all). If you love fairy tales and would like to drift apart into (an)Otherworld for a few hours, I can highly recommend this game.
Here we have a sequel to the first Otherworld game and I have to say it is awesome. So often a sequel seems to pale in comparison to the original game but that is not the case here. The developer makes use of an intense color palette which make this game a visual feast. The storyline continues Fiona's battle with "The Shade" with your help of course! The HO scenes are well done as are the puzzles. At this point, I am not sure why there is a warning of adult material on the game but nothing seems objectionable to me. It might however be a bit scary for younger players. If you like games that have a good storyline, voice-overs, wonderful graphics, and great puzzles along with innovative HO scenes, then this game is for you. Playing Otherworld is a wonderful way to spend quality gaming time. Enjoy!
Finished Demo. BoomZap gives us new and unique atmospheres, storylines, puzzles and gameplay. Not seeing the same ol, same ol for once! A good buy CE or SE. New and interesting puzzles (not terribly difficult but unique) Beautiful Graphics Variety of HO scenes, some where text describes the item to find Interactive Map Creative and original Scenery Great clicking speed Subtle music and great voice overs Find hidden fairies throughout game to win an achievement Read through the achievements first, so you know what to aim for at the start of the game. (ie: don't skip any cutscenese throughout the game) Enjoy
This is a spellbinding game from start to finish. It enchanted and delighted me constantly. A truly magical game. That is why I cannot understand why it carries an age restriction warning. To my mind this is exactly perfect for young girls. It has everything a Fairy Tale should have and then some. No one could help but be fascinated and completely immersed in this outstanding work from these top class Devs. It is even better than the prequel. The wide screen graphics are gorgeous. The puzzles are unique and beautiful. There are new and different iHOS. I noted every kind bar one, Silhouettes. The story is exceptional, as in the first game. The fairies, gremlins, fays, doppelgangers, pixies and all manner of other terrific characters, are so well done they left me in awe. The new locations seem endless, each one more stunning than the last, with wonderful navigtation that is often so lacking lately. There is a jump map, so forget any backtracking at all, if that is your wish. The hint and skip are not super fast, but I can overlook that. In fact I could have overlooked a lot of things, if there were any flaws in this. There are not. The music is lovely too. The hint will point out directions if you do not like maps, but it is such a trip exploring this game on your own. There are also Collectibles and Achievements. I played this game with a sense of wonder and admiration. Of course, being female may account for that. For the guys, maybe not so much. Definitely aimed at the ladies. Scored a bullseye too. The cut scenes are all perfect in every way. The voice overs are spot on. The SG keeps pace and there are 9 Chapters in the main game. Unfortunantely for those who wish to wait for the SE, it will not end satisfactorily. There is more to be accomplished in the BC, which is another hour of pure pleasure. Even then, you are left in no doubt that there is a sequel in the works. Oh, yes. We are not done with that nasty Shade yet. This I look forward to with great anticipation. The main gam
Review is based only on the demo and one gets the full hour before the demo ends. As memory serves me this is a sequel to another game but I don't remember the title, only that I recall a girl named Fiona and the villain called the Shade. When the game starts there is a disclaimer stating that Otherworld is unapt for those under age 14. I did the demo with my 6 year old grandson and there was nothing at all scary to him and I found nothing so sinister to disallow his playing along. The graphics in Otherworld are of the highest quality that I can recall in any game.HOG scenes have some interactive segments which require some thought. This alone makes the game better than average. I encountered 4 or 5 puzzles in the demo and I skipped through a couple but only because I wanted to get through as much of the demo as possible in the time allotted. Some of the puzzles will offer a good challenge which most of us gamers will enjoy. The hint system recharges quickly and is of the type that suggests where to go rather than pointing out directly what to do. There have been some good games issued so far in 2013 and for me Otherworld is the best of the lot. Kudos to BoomZap for creating what appears to be of masterpiece quality. This game is on my buy list and as a CE, something I normally avoid. 5 stars does not justify here. On a one to ten scale this is an 11. As stated in my review title Otherworld is STUNNING !!!!!!!!!!!
Based on the free trial. 3 levels Beautiful graphics. Interactive map. Fairy collectibles. Strategy guide Mixture of puzzles, some standard, some very easy, but enough variety to keep it fun. HOS are interactive I loved the first game in this series, Otherworld-Spring Of Shadows, and as far as I played, this sequel did not disappoint. Once again we meet Fiona, who has not aged since the first episode. However, it is not necessary to play the first game as this is a new adventure. Although I think the game could have been more difficult, and is probably not for the hardcore adventure gamer, it is so beautifully done that I thought it deserved a 5 star rating, I will definitely be buying it!
BASED ON GAME PLAY IN 2nd of 3 modes What is not to like about this game? The problem is what to play next that will compare.... From start to finish the action is plentiful, fun, unique, and completely in sync with the storyline. The design, artwork, and every last detail is absolutely gorgeous, beautifully done, cohesive, and original. Fairy tale themes tend to be a bit syrupy for my tastes, but not so here. Very cool. Absolutely brilliant game. Hats off to the team that brought feast o' fun to life! Even at the opening HOS to go through the schoolyard gates was a dramatic attention grabber and the action never stopped. I had more fun playing all aspects of this game than any other in the past year. If you like Adventure, iHOS, MINI-GAMES, sinister bad dudes and some fun thrown in this is a don't miss.
