Great right from the start, if it's boomzap game you know it's going to be a number 1 game, lots of places to have to keep going with great games and things to find that are not to easy, great colours and graphics, if you have to cut something you even get the sound of cutting etc. Keep your eyes open for the hidden fairies A MUST HAVE GAME, you can't go wrong with this game Ann {in Somerset}
If you're the type of player who loves to indulge in the surroundings and "staging" of each scene, you'll love what Otherworld has to offer. From the music to the details of the artwork, the fantasy world draws you in. Otherworld is a story-centered Adventure, not an ordinary, run of the mill Hidden Object Game. There are very few hidden object scenes and they are not the typical type of search. Usually you're asked to find many of one type of object...which is good because I never liked those messy, cluttered hidden object scenes in other games. It doesn't make sense that a hacksaw, cigar, baby bottle and pocket watch would end up in the same pile except a yard sale or junk yard. There are plenty of light puzzles, though, nothing too difficult, so you're not pulled out of the story to work a minigame--everything fits together and adds to the feel of adventuring. The story about a young girl trapped in the fairy dimension is interesting and enjoyable, too. This game is perfect for the fantasy genre fan. The Collector's Edition of Otherworld has an excellent strategy guide built right into the game... it's neatly laid out with both pictures and textual instructions, opening to the part where you currently need to get through. There's also a bonus chapter (which I haven't tried yet) and achievements to earn. A side quest to find all the hidden fairies throughout the game is also fun... I'm not sure if that's bonus content or part of the general game, though. Finally, if you're tired of blue and hazy spooky games, while Otherworld does have a scary villain in it, the colors are bright and usually sunny. Very nice change from all the horror titles seen on BFG.
I really liked this game. It was long and had a great storyline. Very few "hidden object" scenes in which you had to find 10 of these or match up objects. The built in strategy guide even kept pace with you so that you didn't have to turn the pages at all! The graphics were kinda grainy but I loved how the world looked different as you progressed in the game. Lots to see and do. Achievements galore. Fairies to find. It's dark in a different way. I liked it! My only complaints were the graphics being a little grainy and therefore difficult to find the objects, lack of voiceovers except for the narrator occasionally, and the misclick penalty. Have fun!
I was not disappointed with this game.......good graphics, sound, storyline, etc. There is a good balance of gaming in this one, not too many HO scenes, variety of things to do and both easy and challenging puzzles. The demo went by really fast because I was getting into the game so that's always a good sign of a great game. This will have to be a "must buy" on my list.
I really enjoyed playing this game. Not too difficult and a good storyline. One of my favorites. You will enjoy playing this one.
This was such a great game I bought it immediately after the trial was up. I was going to wait till next month, but so enjoyed playing it I could not resist. It has a really good story line, and instead of finding random hidden objects you look for say 20 spiders hidden in the picture, or find different hidden bottles. The puzzles are all varied, well thought out, but solvable if you think about it a little. It is a long game with rewards for not using hints or playing for an hour. The surprise factor is ongoing and the art work really lovely. , After the first chapter there is a map that makes it easier to go between scenes by clicking on it. and past scenes close if they have no bearing on what ever is needed now, I am thinking this is my favorite game of the year and right up where what I loved in games last season. I am really happy I bought it,
Interesting story, with very pleasant voice over. Locations quite beautiful, crisp and colorful (as the flower garden). Very nice atmosphere ! Is entertaining and enjoyable helping to save Fiona. Yes, it has monsters !!... but without screams, no strident sounds, not dark and gloomy scenes (I played only the free trial). HOS are different, almost all have 15 to 20 of same object (flowers, butterflies, etc.) to find. Visually beautiful, but not challenging. Instead of hint, it has a "guide" that gives tips for the next action to take. In HOS has hint (little eye). Many locations with a lot of things to do... many puzzles totally new and unusual ! Just a warning: I may be wrong , but it seems that there are only 5 chapters .. so, it is worth waiting for the SE, because in one hour, I finished two.
Well I'm in quite a conundrum. I promised myself no more CE's, but Boomzap went and did it again From everyones comments about color I knew it had to be them. They use color like no one else, which is why they are by far, my favorite developer. I also think they have the BEST voice overs, and this one is no different. As everyone has said the puzzles are new and fun,and as usual, lots of them. Some on the easy side, some not so much. The graphics are exceptional, and the gameplay, well, as I said, fun, fun, fun!!! So I'm going to have to hurt my feelings and break a promise and buy it .The only reason I'm hesitant in the first place, is when it comes out as a SE, it will be a sad day, knowing I've already played it. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you Boomzap, keep them coming !!
I'm German and my English is not good, but I MUST tell you about this wonderful game and you MUST buy this game!!! Sometimes I play the english versions because I can't wait for the German version and I wait so long for a game like this! Perhaps the gamemaker read the many negatives sentence about the bad games here and make now a very lovely game: Many new minigames, no 1000 wordseek, wonderful pictures and many more. Oh, I forgott the very good help. I hope, you understand me and now I must end because I will play my new best game!!! A good sunday, best wishes and please not laugh about my mistakes!!!
Wow, I only meant to have a look at this game. Its beautiful to look at and very engaging. My quick look turned into 55 minutes played on the demo. Say's a lot for me to become so engrossed, but then this game flows so well, I just wanted to do the next wee bit, and the next. If I wasn't on 5 game stamps for this month I would buy. Cannot wait for the SE. Enjoy, its a good game.
