If all you want is an HOS game, then "Pirate Mysteries: A Tale of Monkeys, Masks, and Hidden Objects" is a good game. However... Although the title makes it sound like a fun, HOS/Adventure game, it's just HOS, with a few puzzles. The storyline had great potential, but they failed to deliver. On the plus side, the graphics are very good, and the HOS are moderately challenging.
I like this kind of HOG when I want to just relax and look for things.and not a pile of junk you can't see threw....graphics are clear...music fits the theme of pirates..story was just a story..as you get more into the game ..it does give you a challenge..but if your great at HOGS...and love going from room to room which I do. you would not care for this....this is nice to just search around..well worth a DD price not full. as always..download it ..give it a try..smiles to all
I really enjoyed this HOG! It provides just enough variety of searches and sufficient challenge to keep your interest. The story is amusing.
This is a very tongue-in-cheek pirate story, intended to be funnier than it actually is. Some of the attemps fall flat, but it's at least amusing in places. It's not a well-developed story, but ties the game together well enough. The graphics are good and I had no technical issues. I was able to solve most HOS by simply slowly clicking on everything that looks hidden, but I agree that it steals your cursor after just a couple of too-fast clicks, which was irritating. It is pretty short, but I've played many that were shorter. Still, it was entertaining enough as a daily deal, although pretty light fare. Don't expect much of a challenge.
I loved the assortment of puzzles and hidden object scenes that this game offered. The riddle hidden object scenes were a nice change of pace. During the demo, which I just finished, the puzzle type never repeated. I like going from one puzzle or scene to the next. If you're into the storyline and sound, I can't help you. I mute the sound and hit skip as soon as it appears, but if you are just in it for the puzzles and searches then you will get your moneys worth out of this one. I have just purchased this game and haven't played past the demo time yet, but the demo has been worth the price alone.
The reason for my review title is because as I read the reviews, I almost didn't try the game but something made me linger......look and linger till I did download, played 45 mins. and then bought it!! I can't tell anyone about the "Arcade bonus" as it's locked until the game is completed. Yes, it is HO ...BUT.....I really enjoyed the variety of formats they used throughout the game. Hence....not boring. Being far from a newbie I would recommend this game as a nice change, cute story, little extras that it offers . One example is "the shadow of the item in HO scene" Another is it gives you the choice of which object you want to find. I've only completed a few puzzles but enjoyed them. Your reviews are correct in that it isn't a "strain on the little grey cells" but sometimes a break is nice!! One point I do want to reiterate, is to try a game for yourself. I do agree that the reviews are very helpful but games like a lot of things are personal preference/choice....etc.
Without dialogue this would be fun. Worse storyline ever.
I enjoyed playing this game because it offered several different tasks to complete and thus this game was not boring: *hint was object specific (click on hint and then click on object you needed to find) *riddles (read riddle at bottom of screen and then figure out object and find it -- don't need to do riddles in order) *place objects in white-shaped silhouettes *hidden object scenes (find objects listed) *complete pictures either by swapping (if I remember correctly) and/or rotation *move objects around matching the subjects (very last puzzle) *moving colored stones into their specific-colored spaces In the beginning, I did get temporarily stuck because I expected the scene to change (when completed) but it just sat there until I realized that I needed to click on the arrow(s) on the map located to the bottom left. I found this game relaxing and with various tasks with a cute story, to boot.
I had the best time with this game, in fact I've started it again in different name
