A lot of people are jumping to conclusions about this game...first all, play the first one and if you are good at it and want something that is a few jumps in difficulty then this one is a good game. It is not as hard as some people are making it though. I am 45 min into it, around level 9 or 10 I think and its not that bad...just play and master the first one first like I have. Yes the invisable monsters can be a pain but if you invest in the radar tower it is not that bad either. Some people say this game is boring...its only boring if you don't like this kind of game....I hope they come out with more tower defense games because I'm beating these ones within a week of getting them. So try it before you judge it being a bad game...cuz it is a good game
Though this is one of the most difficult games to win at 3 stars per level, I loved the challenge! Did need a bit of advise from expert player though. (be aware of how you use yours "stars") RD games are the best TD, I loved this one and the first.
This series brought new and refreshing strategies to the TD genre. I truly enjoyed the first.... however, they tried too hard to make the second either different or more challenging. Most of the game is very similar to the first. New stealth units definitely required tricky startegies to defeat them. Often 1 or more Spells are required to keep the level perfect at early waves. I would recommend focusing your offensive upgrades on the Dart Towers. They will be the cheapest and most powerful tower used in later levels as they can shoot/slow down both air and ground targets. But therein lies the problems of this game at later levels. I was able to get to level 12 of Wastelands, all perfects, effectively using just the Dart Tower. Some creatures are immune to either one or the other upgraded dart tower ammunition. In Wastelands I almost always had to sell those towers in the middle of the level and replace them with their counterpart as the monsters changed and were now immune to the ones I started with. Ok, no big deal I guess as that's what I spent my valuable gems for. BUT on level 13??? they mixed and changed the monsters so many times that I was constantly replacing towers. And even then it wasn't enough. I got so frustrated having to replace towers multiple times I gave up and stopped playing. Maybe I used the wrong strategy of tower upgrades with my gems??? But I wasn't interested in going back and upgrading all of the other towers just to find out. This is mostly a cool and challenging game, but the way they mixed monster types so much towards the end it's hard to decide whether to recommend it??? If you liked the first and have patience then you'll enjoy this one.
For those who, like myself, finished the first Royal Defense, you will look back on that experience as rather easy compared to this new version. I've played many TD games, this one is designed for you to fail, at least at first. Many people are complaining about the invisible monsters, and not without reason. After playing for a while, I believe it is possible to get three stars on each level, but requires some real grinding to get enough gems to buy the upgrades. You need the patience to replay levels many times to do this. Sadly, the game does suffer from poor help documentation. I would have thought that if the developers had listened to people's comments from the first version, they would have at least created a repository of some kind. Would not be a great effort to implement and the lack of it again in this new version kind of smacks of an attempt for quick turnaround for a buck. Still, I remain a fan of the game and have made the purchase. I do like the pursuit of achievements, even with the punishing difficulty and lengthy grind needed.
If you completed the first Royal Defense, you will like this one. Easy to earn $$$, but fewer spots to put up defenses that the first.
This game is really a continuation of the last Royal Defence game. I highly recommend you start with that game as it will explain all the units/enemies abilities and weaknesses, where this game just starts off like you know those things already. That being said, this is a great tower game. If you liked the first one you will definitely like this one too.
I loved the first one,you had to figure out the loop hoops but once you did the game was easy, not with this one tho,I tried the pause, but it did not work,so nothing left except,go and advance build up you strength and return for your gold stars,if you like tower games and have patience, then this is the game for you,it has more up grades than other tower games, spells and just over all fun, this is a must for my game collection.
It is a little tricky to figure out what the towers do. Game could definitely benefit from an encyclopedia. But overall, it's great. Definitely recommend.
This is the second in the series, and is quite a bit harder than the first. Would have appeciated a little more information on how to beat each level. There are invisible troops to kill, which took a while to figure out that you have to build satellite towers to make them visible. Normally don't give a "spoiler", but there was a lot of people going to the forums and asking how to kill them. You don't have the advantage of going back and repeating levels with upgraded weapons to achieve 3 stars. It is REALLY needed on this one!! If you are up for a challenge, this is a great game for you!!! I am the type that just doesn't give up, so I will be playing this one for a long time to get expert on every level!! Good luck everyone...
The invisible enemies present a real challenge and require that you pause and upgrade frequently. It is also likely that you will have to use some gems to purchase upgrades to survive certain levels. Tough, but a very good game. Interesting levels which present different challenges. I could never beat one level; I always came up wither 1 or 2 lives short. You may end up cussing the game when you lose, but with a change of strategy you can replay and win. Except that last level. Stick with it and read the blogs.
