a fun sometimes challenging game

I love these games and this one did not dissapoint. like so many could have used a map - I got lost at times but the story line is fun, not too scary or gruesome but fun. save the eiffle tower and play with clowns. It is nice to have games that are not all scary and gruesome. I don't use sound so can't rate that and I bought the SE not the CE. found it enjoyable and I recommend this game.

A Very Good Value

I was pleased with the game for a number of reasons: the graphics were clean and bright, and filled my wide screen monitor. The minigames were of reasonable quality, and blended well into the action. This is a large game for the money, quite equal, IMHO, to the first installment, which was a CE. It's looking lately like some games, like this one, were intended as CE. This is well worth 1 credit. If you like a carnival setting, and large handdrawn graphics, you'll like this.

Excellent

One of the best things about this game is the sheer number of locations. I've seen some games present you with a small number of locations and you feel boxed in. Not here, there are dozens of locations and each of them has several nooks n crannies to explore making it for a very cozy experience. The storyline is interesting as it revolves around chasing a magician around Paris. Pretty cool. The story book attempts to explain his backstory so you get some information, but not all, so it leaves you in mystery unresolved. The length of the game was good, the puzzles were perfect, not too difficult but with a couple of unique ones thrown in. And extra bonus points for no missed click punishments! I would love to see more from this developer. Great stuff!

Excellent Game

Ten times better than Masquerade, the first game in this series!! It even had an ending, instead of coming to a screeching halt like a lot of SEs. Logical game play, and each chapter is complete in itself -- once you finish a chapter, there is no going back to the locations in a previous one. The only (very small) negative for me was that I prefer the pointing arrow kind of hint instead of it just telling you "nothing to do here." But because each chapter was self-limiting, you really couldn't get lost, so not a big deal. I thought the shattered screen style of hint in the HOS was cool. I definitely recommend this game.

Excellent Paris adventure.

Great storyline: as a detective, you are called to Paris to stop Damian LeStrange, a demented magician who is making monuments disappear, and his next target is the Eiffel Tower. Good VOS, great graphics. HOS interactive and clear. Puzzles are fun, with a short skip button. Hint for all areas. Nice music. LeStrange disappears, which bodes for another chapter, hopefully. Not a really long game, only 4 hours on casual play, but very enjoyable.

Gorgeous graphics!!!!

Enjoyed this game, well worth the discount, still worth full price though, as it was a great game to play.A good game worthy of ce for the graphics alone and quite long with lots of hobs and puzzles. Gorgeous graphics and very well done by the Devs who put this together.Hope there's a follow up. Loved all of it!!!!!!.

In fact, it is not the best but I liked !

The game is well developed, with an interesting story - monuments are disappearing, and Damien LeStrange - the world greatest magician - made that. The graphics are very good, the music is appropriate, has good VO. It has map and journal. HOS with good visibility, not really interactive (just open luggage to find something, for example).Mini games are the usual, but fun. Does not bring much new, but it's well done, colorful, with plenty to do and many places to explore. A unpretentious game , not very challenging, but relaxing and entertaining.

Must see for yourself!

When I started this I thought it was far to easy. It does pick up as you play. The options offered are very good. Even cursor size! 3 difficulty modes and volumes as usual. The mini games range from very easy to quite difficult. Hidden Object scenes are interactive and very clear. Not terribly hard. The hint button recharges very quickly on the easiest mode, 3 times slower on second hardest and you don't have one on the hardest mode:) You do get a journal that holds your clues and a map to help you along the way. I found this a lot of fun but unfortunately not very long.

Unique puzzles, weird inventory items, goofy story - Awesome

So this nutty magician is running around stealing famous monuments and I, world renowned detective, must stop him! Fortunately I have a potato, a cat puppet, some random bits of paper, and a chair leg... Finally, a game with inventory items that don't have an obvious use! Plus some original puzzles, some very nice reworking of older mini-games, interactive H0 scenes, a story that is ridiculous but amusing, and great art. Each chapter has its own area so there isn't too much running around. Voice overs are well done. Cons: Some of the inventory items need precise clicking. Because it's not always obvious which item to use, this can be frustrating. This game is a little short, it took me about 4 hours with no hints or walkthough. Even on hardcover, there are black bar hints, but it's possible to ignore them. The last chapter had the best puzzles but the rest was a bit sloppy. No interactive map.
