I really liked this game and just finished it. It had stellar crisp graphics which were not grainy in the least, mood music which was not intrusive, I loved all the hidden object scenes, and the puzzles weren't too hard although I did skip a few. It had a good length and different story line from other games. This new developer who does not have anything to do with WoW did an excellent first-rate job at this first game and I look forward to more from them.
Simply put, do not miss this game. The graphics are artwork quality. The game itself is laid out logically. It has a good story line, and one that progresses smoothly. Play the tutorial when it's offered. It's short, efficient, and ensures that you understand the game's mechanics. Again, I have to use the word "logic" because this game is logical, from how the game works to where you find hidden objects. For example, you don't find a baton dangling from the sky, you find it in a reasonable place in an old wrecked police car. The controls give options that should suit everyone. If you find that the early scenes are too dark for you, simply brighten the game from the controls. If you're one of those folks, like me, whose eyes are sensitive to too much brightness, then you can control it to ensure you find a balance that's comfortable. The story line is beguiling. It offers a sense of gritty noir combined with an elegance in the art that will take your breath away--especially when you move to the first time travel scene. The change between the two scenes really shows off the design and graphics work. I bought the game at 18 minutes in and wanted to do so faster. However, I wanted to try out the game before reviewing it here to report on hints #recharge quickly#, interaction with game elements #easy#, navigation #well laid out and simple# and the flow of the game #seamless and so realistic that you're drawn in quickly#. This game is an eipcurean delight. It's head and shoulders above the cookie cutter games, and it's design, gameplay, and story are extraordinarily well executed. it's a smart game with style.
I loved this game right from the start and knew, immediately after finishing the beta test, that I would buy it . The intro in black and white backed up by a well written dramatic music score sets the atmosphere beautifully. The cutscenes are just as good and the dramatic incidental music falls intermittently, always well ? propos. All this conveys a somber atmosphere worthy of an action-packed film noir. Unfortunately, there is no voice-over, only scripts. The artwork is simple, nicely colored, with tinges of blue, grey and pink depending on what suits the scene; graphics are sharp, very pleasant and contribute well to the overall atmosphere. The interactive HOS's are also very neat and not overloaded to the extreme although the items are a bit small and sometimes difficult to locate. No penalty for misclicking. Easier to find are the useful objects which you use almost immediately as you go along, as the game doesn't force you to backtrack a lot; you visit 3 or 4 scenes at a time. Use of them is logical and not particularly difficult. Some puzzles are original, other more classsical. Not all of them are easy and some are randomized. Yet solving them is never Mission Impossible. Besides you can skip them, and a little Question Mark Button provides you with clear instructions. The friendly Hint System recharges fast and gives indications as what to do next or where to go. Additional help is given by scripts when you click on something that requires an action. Further aid appears in the form of a communication device which gives you a map, objectives and messages. Judging by the first 3 Chapters, the storyline seems solid and gripping, at least interesting enough for me to want to see how it ends. In spite of its 8 Chapters, the game will probably be fairly short, 5 to 6 hours as a rough estimate, depending on how fast you usually play your games. A straightforward, uncomplicated game with a good plot and not devoid of originality, whic
It's a little different than usual and I think thats what I love about it. I like that it gives you plenty of room to figure things out and the graphics are pretty amazing. Story seems to be pretty original with the whole mafia twist added in with time traveling. After playing the Demo it's a definite buy for me.
I've played the full version and it was worthy to download. Like in a good movie you can build the stoty brick by brick. The scenery and the effects gets more exciting at the end. It was easy to play with interesting minigames. You have to use your brain to figure out what to do or where to go next but this is part of the game.
This was a very interesting game. I loved the detail of the graphics as well as the game play. There were puzzles as well as hidden object scenes, which had some combine-items challenges as well. All in all I enjoyed the game...with one complaint. I beat it too quickly! I wanted it to last much longer. But that might just be a personal problem as I tend to complete these games pretty quickly. One tip to avoid frustration...resize your screen if you run into problems with items being off the viewable area. It's definitely worth checking out and I bet if you try the trial, you will buy it. Enjoy!
I am amazed this did not debut as a C.E. Awesome game! Very challenging, OUTSTANDING graphics; looks like real photography. Kudos to the animators! A definite buy!
I found the game fun to play with a lot of mini games and interchangeable items needed to do certain things. The graphics was good and color scheme excellent. Black and white with changes to color took you from past to future an adventure. HOGS were easy to do with some items needing to be a bit larger. Music was great toned down. Hint button and walk through were handy to use. Game was a good way to fill a slow Sunday. Worth the purchase. Thank you BFG and developers for another nice game to play. May all you fishies and BFG staff and game develpers have a safe and Happy holiday.
I am not a fan of roaming around, but this game is fun and kept my attention. Just enough HO's to keep me going. along with an interesting story line this is a keeper! Best thing is that its an excellent game and not a CE!! Yahoo!. If you are a strict HOG and no interaction type of person, I encourage you to at least try this game...Not alot of big frustrations trying to figure out what to do next! No voices, just reading, but that is ok! Music was perfect for the game, just background noise to me!
For the first time, when I finished playing this game, I felt like I had just watched a good movie. I don't know if it was the good cut-scenes or just the overall flow of the game and how much I liked the story, but it played like a good film to me. That is refreshing. Nothing was overly difficult, I may have skipped one mini-game and used the hint two or three times on HO's but other than that it was smooth playing...probably around four hours, but I never time my games and never finish them in one sitting. This game was a nice change from the typical demon/ghosts/detective themes, most enjoyable!
