Good, long, fragmented object game

I loved, loved, loved this game! It is very long, I spent more than 10 hours on it and didn't want it to end. I will replay it, and I hardly ever replay a game. It has a morphing object in each scene to add to the fun. The graphics were good, the story was good, the hint button was good, it had a map that showed active areas. I love fragment games and this is a good one. My only complaint is that the mini games were too simple for my taste, but I like hard ones. This is the third game in the series, I am now off to buy the first two!

The Treasures of Mystery Island: The Ghost Ship

I enjoyed this game very much and would highly recommend. STORYLINE: Not bad, very much a ghost story so nothing too exciting, but by no means boring. GAMEPLAY/GRAPHICS: Straightforward gameplay, easy to know what to do. Graphics ok, seen better, but they were very clear and crisp. MUSIC/VOICEOVERS: Can't comment on music as I always have this turned off. There are no voiceovers, just text to read. HOS/PUZZLES: This is a fragmented object game so there are no H0 scenes. I like both types though. Puzzles were original, not many of them i've seen before. LEVEL OF CHALLENGE: There are two modes, casual or advanced. I always play on casual, but this was a little too easy in this game. Nearly stopped playing after half an hour as it was just too easy. However, even on casual, the difficulty does increase throughout the game which I was pleased to see. Puzzles range in difficulty too. WHAT DO YOU GET?: You have a journal where all your notes are added, and a map which I like. The map also lets you know where you are, and also lets you know the locations where actions are available which is good if you get stuck and don't know where to go next. You also get your usual hint button. GAME LENGTH: Very good length, played for several nights in a row. Not too short that it's over before you get into it, but not too long that you get bored.

Great adventure FROG

I like FROGs (fragmented object games) much more than HOGs (hidden object games) so it was an easy decision to get this one. It's mostly an adventure game though, and a pretty well-constructed one. The game is divided into four chapters, corresponding to different parts of the island, each containing about 15 locations. A few are open at the beginning and you unlock more locations as you proceed. There is a good map that indicates locations where you can do stuff. The fragmented objects can be a little tricky to find as they are on the small side and could be in a different orientation from what's displayed in the object list. All fragmented objects become inventory items when you find all the pieces. The puzzles are of average difficulty (i.e. easy) for a casual game. I liked the way the story unfolded. You're working to prevent a catastrophe and often when you enter a location, some text is displayed with the name of the location, and how much time you have left until the climactic event. It gives a good sense of urgency. I played the second game in the series (but not the first) but this story doesn't seem to have any connection to it. Maybe I just don't remember the story well enough. I believe the presence of "morphing objects" are new though. These are small objects that slowly morph into a different object then back every few seconds or so. They have no effect on gameplay but are a nice added challenge.

A treasure of a Hidden Object Game!

I was pleasantly surprised to find this game an enjoyable way to pass the time. I have not had much luck finding any decent games lately, but this one is a keeper! Although the graphics and overall art work are nothing to write home about the gam eitself played well. It went smoothly and quickly. There is no problem finding any of the items even tho' they are well hidden. There is a bonus to this game that I particularly enjoyed and that was the "hidden beyond" objects. There are 56 altogether. I always enjoy a game when it has that little hidden plus in it. None of the items are so far placed that you feel you'll never find them. This game plays so smoothly that you can almost find a rhythm while finding objects, lol. Many games just don't make sense and you find yourself wandering over the land trying to find a way out. This game doesn't leave you hanging. Hints are readily available as well as skips for puzzles. One surprise is that there are actually no hidden object puzzles in this game at all, but, I would definitely recommend this game and am placing it on my "wish list".

Wow! Great Game

This is an excellent game! Graphics are clean and concise, storyline is interesting - makes you want to keep playing. Game had a nice length - not too short. Was worth the money. No HOG - so was a nice change. Good enough I plan on playing it again! (Now that is a sign of a good game!)

The Ghost Ship: What a pleasure cruise!

Played this gem of a game and decided to try out this new review option. Simply loved the game and the storyline. Graphics were good and the hidden objects (which you have to find the pieces of) were fun and challenging to find. If you are looking for a game with some decent length to it, give this a try. Definitely worth the $$.

Much better than expected.

I thought this would be another decent hidden object game--nice graphics and gameplay but nothing very original. Wrong. This is a fairly long game, and it does have nice graphics, sound, and gameplay, but it also had a surprisingly good story that really carried me along. There are no voiceovers, but the dialog is easy to read, adding enough detail without being too lengthy. It is a fragmented object game, so you do spend a fair amount of time assembling things and figuring out where and how to use them. You also have to run around a bit, from scene to scene. I mention this as some people seem to dislike these features. I love adventure games, and enjoy having to figure everything out without too much hand-holding, so this was a win for me. There is a map showing which locations still need something to be done, and there are good hints if you need a little help. A journal records most of what you find or read, so you don't need to make copious notes. There are morphing objects to be collected, which I think is fun. I wish they would give you a little treat for collecting them all (like a wallpaper or song), or at least a sort of trophy room where you could look at all of them. Overall, a really nice, very entertaining game that is, in my humble opinion, a good step above average.

Fantastic gem of a game

I was sceptic at first when I started playing but it did not take long to totally get hooked. I could not stop playing but eventually had to. It is a very long game, hard to find. Morphing objects included. The items to find, instead of your regular HOS are frags and sometimes hard to make out. You have to help individual ghosts, and put them back on the ship, by putting wooden figurines of them in their own ship cabins. This is a very captivating game, hard to explain, you have to try it yourself. I did not want it to end. I don't know hwy I did not try this game before, and thanks to one of my favorite developers, they ran a special and I saw this game. Great graphics, gorgeous scenes with lots to do, minigames somewhat easy, but it all makes sense. Try it, it is now one of my favorite games ever, and I own many.

If you like adventure games. Buy this one!

Amazing game. A good all round adventure game, and long! I like playing a decent game that lasts more than a couple of hours, and this did. And I'll be playing it again soon, it's long enough to not remember every twist and turn.

Great Game!!!!!!!

Can't better what has already been written, but would just like to add that other makers of games should take a leaf out of this game's book and end the adventure properly. The ending for this was superb (for me). Buy and enjoy!!!!
