in this time management game, tara is a lawyer who is taking a break from her demanding job. she returns to tiki island to visit her grandparents and to help them with their beachside tikibar, just as she did when she was younger. but when she arrives, there?s a protest at the airport: a CEO from a megacorporation is trying to acquire the entire island and displace the villagers so the corp can construct a nuclear power plant on the island. (i guess he hasn?t heard that sea levels are rising!) graphics: cartoon-style art, nothing very complex. basically, you serve lemonade, ice creams, hamburgers, sandwiches and other items to customers on the beach. however, this is a rather static game. cutscenes are comic-strip style with scripted dialogue (no voiceovers). music: steel drum music, but the same eight bars of the score play over and over and OVER again. oh, and did i mention that the music is repetitive? like the graphics, the music is nothing special. the sound effects are average. storyline: it?s really difficult to see how the storyline outlined in the opening cutscenes actually tie in with the game when in fact, all you ever do is serve sandwiches, drinks and ice creams to customers and upgrade your tikibar. gameplay: well, it?s a relief that the game doesn?t have slow scene transitions, and the cursor doesn?t freeze, but annoyingly, you cannot queue tasks (except when mixing drinks, when you can queue one and only ONE task -- delivering the drink), so that will slow you down. once you?ve figured out the system for beating the game, it becomes quite repetitious and boring, even. i wonder if this game is the ?rough draft? ?pre-beta? (?) version of the finished game that the developers will release a year or two from now? my interaction: one hour demo. i?ve no plans to purchase this game. i am a fan of time management games, but i think there are far better games out there for you to purchase. for example, if you like the island theme, then you should try ?ranch rush
