If you like Trivial Pursuit [which I do] you'll love this game. Premis of the game is to answer questions from a variety of subjects; History, Sports, Geography, Television, Movies, Art and Literature etc. which alternate between 3 boxes which shows the amount of $ you can win. Levels progress as you fill the money column which increases with each level Further into the game you will get add-ons such as 'Lightening Round' where you have to answer 10 questions in 60 seconds #great fun# 'Double Money' 'Extra Turns' [which I needed more than once] If you run out of turns you go back to Level 1 but with different questions. Questions range from Easy to Hard; box 1 is always the easiest although the amount of $ you can win is less I haven't come across any repeated questions, but I've only managed to teach the 6th level [sad face] Achievements : there are quite a few...Answer so many questions in a certain amount of time....answer so many questions in a certain subject etc. You can also post your score on a leaderboard on the net. I'm really enjoying the game [except the Sports questions LOL] It's fun!
I played for the whole hour and will use a credit to play some more. You get to choose trivia questions from movies, television, technology, history, arts, and geology. My favorite was the lightning round where you get 60 seconds to answere 10 questions. There is also a global and personal score keeper. You choose from one of three catagories which have point amounts according to the difficulty of the question, and you have to achieve 25000 points to clear the round. It's fun.
If you love trivia, you will love this. It's straight forward but it challenge you of what you know or don't know. Even though I'm terrible in trivia, this held my interest that I used up all my minutes in the demo. Also with this game, the developers can come up with more questions in the future. I'm glad the BF is coming up with more different types of games. I know one thing, I'm terrible in sports, TV and movies.
I only played the demo but this game is great! The level of challenge varies as do the points and the lightening rounds are a blast. Even my non gamer daughter stood behind me answering the questions while I was playing and actually claimed it was fun (she has NEVER found one of my games fun). Don't really know how long you'd have before repetition was a factor but I enjoyed this game immensely as far as the one hour trial went.
its more fun than the original trivia amchine
I just can't put this down, and find myself even dipping in during ad breaks. I am someone who loves quizzes and trivia though, and have quite often been 'that' person in the pub shouting at the quiz machine, or desperately shouting out sports questions to try to get the answer from blokes at the bar. This is great as you can stop and save your game at any point. It is a bit trickier playing as a Brit, as people have already mentioned. The TV and history questions are mainly American, but on the plus side, many of the genius level questions in those topics are quite easy for me as they're European or world questions You can definitely employ a bit of strategy in that sense, with a bit of luck. As well as the three difficulty levels, you can also choose to ditch one or two of the wrong answers from the four provided, although you do lose points awarded. I am now seeing this a personal challenge, so far I've not made it past round 8, or answered a whole lightening round correctly. If you like this sort of thing, try the demo. You'll soon find out if it's your bag or not.
This game was a hoot. Nobody had to deal with Alex or any annoying music and personal introductions. We ordered some pizza, opened a few bottles and made a party of it. I highly recommend combining people who have different subject strengths. Teamwork FTW !! There are 15 achievements to earn and this could qualify as an educational tool as well. Score!
This is basically just an upgrade on the original game which looks more stylish. You now get achievements such as answering a certain amount of questions or answering questions from each category. You can also opt to go on to the next question without having to click. One criticism I have of Trivia Machine Reloaded is that it does not seem to download new questions as the original did. I have already had several questions repeated after only about two hours playing time. This never happened with Trivia Machine. The other is that the television and sports questions especially have such an American bias that it is difficult to answer a lot of the questions from those categories. Beyond that, it is still a good trivia game and worth buying as the questions are a nice mix of easy to difficult.
I love quiz games and really enjoyed this, except for one big flaw, for anyone not american it's hard to get a high score if you know nothing about american politics and sport, this is the only thing which spoils another really fun game.
Similar to "who wants to be a millionaire." I agree with the reviewer who said that they appreciate the lack of an annoying MC. It's just you and the machine. Man... do I suck at sports! I kept praying for science and technology to come up. I used a free game credit, so for me it was a win/win.
